A BRIEF HISTORY OF ABADDYON (by JUAN M. VÉRTIZ - Founder):

I´ve been developing The Abaddyon Project since the year 2000. It all really began as a regular metal band, but some notions start to flow in my mind through time and space. First of all, I´m from Mar del Plata, Argentina (South America), a very unussual place to make this kind of music, which is a combination of metal, classical music, progressive Rock, folklore, ballad,and all this in a foreign language to me: in English!. So, as you can imagine... is not that easy to spread this art. You know, I´ve always want to make a full spectacle surrounding my music, with scenography, guest musicians and a whole concept as a center topic. In the beginning, I had a stable formation on my band, and the name and orientation of all the matters changes a lot. It was right in 2002 when I definitely baptized the band with the name ABADDYON, which is a name made with the mixture of the Apocalypse Angel´s name as it appears in the Holy Bible, but with no religious intention: ...A king, the Angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in hebrew is Abaddon and in greek Apollyon, in Latin Exterminans (Apocalypse 9:11)
 We´ve played in several stages, promoting our band and collecting fans. And in 2003 we´ve recorded our Under the dreams of eternity EP, a self-production that shows the group potential in that moment. After some replacements in the line-ups, I took the full control of the project. I´ve started the writing of the Myths of Arghlan and his corresponding music. In actual times, I have the 3 first albums ready, with arrangements and all the stuff. In a few weeks we´re gonna release a new Ep called: The Lion´s Gate, now with a clear design to follow as the professional musicians we are. Our music style has changed a lot: from basic power metal to an unclassifiable kind of heavy music; with more symphonic colours and different ambiences. Actually, we have the capacity to make a soft ballad, a progressive song, a black metal ambience with melodies, and so much more.
Ok, we´re looking now for the right company to distribute our material, and searching a fair record deal that supports my creation. We´re really prepared to record an official full album, to make some tours and to promote this project around the world, cause I have the best team to reach those goals.
