Last night at our Jazz Gig at the Montana Hotel, Luzern, Switzerland; someone put a double Cd album of Michael Jackson on the piano. It was right before the last set. I smiled. I picked up the cd and held it up infront of the audience. They all cheered and clapped and shouted!! Then I turned around to the Trio and asked 'What Michael Jackson Do you know?'......and they launced into 'You Got Me Workin Day and Night', 'Billy Jean', and 'Blame It On The Boogie' ! It was unbelievable! Great night. Thank you Michael! Your Music lives on!! It continues to cross boundaries from Pop to Jazz!! I love you!

Alexia Gardner Featuring 3 Fabulous Orignal Tunes!
Welcome to My Sellaband Site Everyone! I am feeling really happy to introduce 3 brand new songs to you. As I work on my 3rd album, scheduled for a Spring 2009 release, I am constantly working on great new, original tunes to compliment some well chosen Jazz Standards for this long awaited 3rd album.
(scroll down for my favorite songwriter.....Alex Webb)
I am writing my own tunes as well as collaborating with super songwriters and musicians here in Europe. One of the songwriters that I have been working closely with over the past two or three years is London's Alex Webb. He is based in London's West Harrow and is an accomplished pianist as well as wonderful songwriter and lyricist. (Just have a listen to the three songs here on this page and decide for yourself)
He has been writing for well known London based singers such as Liane Carrol and Tammi Weiss and up-and-coming singers such as Nicola Emmanuella, Kocoa Brown and Jo Harrop; to name a few.
I met Alex Webb over on MYSPACE, a few years ago whilst I lived in Shanghai. He heard me sing and asked if he could write a few songs for me. We met up in West Harrow once I returned to Europe and after agreeing we could easily work together, and the fact that he only lives 5 minutes from my Aunty Freda He began writing his tunes and I began singing them. He has written these 3 great tunes, on this page, that I have tried to internalize and interpret as best I can. He continues to write for me and is currently sending more tracks through the post.
These are just the early days. Here in Switzerland I am still working on what instruments will be played. Whether a saxophone will be featured or not, whether a piano sound is richer than the keyboard etc.On the first two recordings we have Switzerland's Beat Baumli on guitar. The 3rd track is featuring The Easy Listening Trio. It's a whole lot of fun............making music.

Mandyleigh Storm's FIRE AND SNOW
There is a short review below......
My husband I finally got a copy of Mandyleigh's Fire and Snow.....the first copy of a Sellaband Recorded Artist........a little bit embarrassing as I have been here on this site for a long while now.
What can I say....we play this smashing Cd in the Car, in the lounge, in the Kitchen on the IPOD when I'm doing the dishes.
If you haven't heard it .....PLEASE.....go and do yourself a favour and purchase one! This is a real, honest and hearfelt piece of work. Mandyleigh puts her heart out there for everyone to feel and hear. As a singer and songwriter I am inpsired to write more and to write with more heart, more depth having heard this Cd.
I am also impressed with the quality of recording and High standard of musicianship found here.
Congratulations Mandyleigh and Sellaband!!
Love
Alexia

My name is Alexia Gardner and have been singing and performing now for most of those 30 something years. I have enjoyed singing the jazz standards and easy listening ballads and classic songs all over the world. I sang on Cruise Ships to luxury Hotels, from South of Spain to Jakarta, Indonesia.
And it has been amazing.
"It's So Amazing To Be Loved"....Luthur Vandross!
I was born in Birmingham, England, of Jamaican Parents and currently living in Switzerland where I continue to sing and perform at occasional jazz festivals in the country.
My goal, at this time, is to record an album of my own songs. I have recorded two albums of my favorite jazz standards already. They are beautfiuly created and produced by myself and my husband. I hope you enjoy them. In the meantime I hope to write and release a 3rd album that is of............. ME.
Not just my voice, my sound, my style, my interpretaion....but my words, my story, my lyrics....
Lots of Love
Alexia
