New years eve Show In Tanzania

How could I go away and not keep everyone updated on the trip!. Well its 04:21 sitting at the airport waiting to check in. I love travelling the people you meet are hilarious. Pete (guitarist) and I have just met the man that simply does not like flying. I wouldn't mind but his made me nervous!. Why is it a nervous person can highlight all the bad things that can go wrong! Its been a laugh a minute so far just really bored at the moment. But I guess theres always duty free to look forward to!

Where did a whole day go! the flight was good fun. Mainly due to Dave Bonsall an amazing magician that had us amazed and in fits of laughter. That shaved a few hours off the flight time!. Dave was also travelling to do the same show as Pete and I. (

Ok so arrived at Killamanjaro airport excited but that bubble soon burst when my suitcase didn't materialize. So haven't been happy today! but the arusha hotel staff did do all they could do to get the case back. I've finally got it now so can relax a bit. The venue is really cool did a sound check today so really looking forward to bringing some soul to Tanzania. Looks like it went well at sound check, I had lots of people coming to look that's always a good sign!.Its 1.00am now so gonna get lots of rest for New years eve work session! January 1st 2008 02:45 If anyone had said I would have such an amazing time performing I wouldn't have believed it!. This gig had to be one of the best performances ever. Mainly due to such a lively audience. We brought the new year in, in true style. The Acoustic set went down so well. We were welcomed like stars!. Apparently I was the biggest thing to happen in Arusha since Shaggy came a few years ago. And the journey into soul set! Well that was a whole new story. I even managed to do the battle of sex's which the girls won of course!. I almost felt tearful at count down. I've had such a great year in this industry and to complete the year performing in Tanzania to 400 people able to perform my original compositions too was a real sense of achievement. Pete was amazing on guitar too! the 2 of us really make a good team. SO here I am In 2008 in my hotel blogging! I haven't touched a drink all night. So Im going to celebrate UK time lol have a tipple with u guys and be thankful for this opportunity. Thank u everyone that sent me a txt email and comment on the blog. You always make me feel I have support I sincerely and humbly thankyou. Have a great new year god bless. I think 2moro I'll rest and on the 2nd I go on Safari. Now If I can loose my suitcase Im hoping this trip they won't leave me in the bush! I'll check in soon

2nd Jan On safari!!
06:30 Start and a lovley morning.  Driving through the remote towns of Tanzania to Lake Manyara.  I was stunned when Dave Bonsall turned to me and said Look Giraffe.  I thought he was joking and said yep Tin Bath!!  He replied no Look theres a giraffe at the side of the road!!  And there he was a young giraffe just innocently grazing very shy watching us as we were amazed watching him.  That would be the 1st of many amazing sights I would see that morning.  The next awesome sight was the view point looking on the whole of Lake Manyara.  I was humbled by the scenery.  Very Green and fruitful.  Exotic Birds of all colours.  The next breath taking sight would be the family of Baboons just leisurely walking along the path.  Now if Im asked the question "why did the elephant cross the road?" I now know !! To get to the water hole on the other side.  and if your in its way it will charge you!!  Guess how we found that out!!  That was a very scary few minutes!!

The funniest thing of the day Had to be Dave Bonsall (Magician) turning Bush leaves into US dollars and making the locals very nervous.  Two small Masai Tribe boys were amazed as Dave made Dollars appear out of nowhere!.  Everywhere we went with Dave Bonsall a crowd would soon gather.  They really had never seen anything like that before.  Poor Dave had to work continuously over our short stay,  but I was just as amazed as the locals!!  I'm easily amazed and pleased!!

Back In the UK
Really sad to go in the evening.  Driving past the icy tips of mount killamanjaro in the distance,  Taking a last memory snap shot of the african plains and not to mention the heat!!  Really missing that right now!! this trip really made me think about my career and how far i can push the boundaries.  2008 will be a very focused year.  I have set some interesting goals for this year,  and with starting the year in such style has really increased my drive.  Looking forward to what emerges in 08
