* 13-5 Maarten, Milo and Siger will spend a weekend at the Dutch coast to finish the new CD.

* 4-5 Maarten and Siger travelled to Surhuisterveen (of all places) to record the last of Maarten's drum tracks. Together with Guido Aalbers (Coldplay, Muse, Tarball) they had a great time. All drums are now done and Milo is busy mixing it up ;-)

* 28-4 Guus and Siger finished all rhythm guitars. Siger spent the whole day in the studio and had a great time ;-)

* 25-4 We have entered the final fase of recording the new cd. Siger has a two week holiday coming up so he will tie up every loose end there is left ;-)

* 16-3 We played a cool show in Roden last night. It was a dress rehearsal for the three new songs "All that's left", "Shallow" and "Stay dead". All three songs came out great and are ready to be recorded. Especially "All that's left" is special and received great response. Be sure to check out the new songs when we release the album on June 20th in Club Vera in Groningen (see shows).

* 17-2 The three last remaining songs on the album are finished!! We now have ten songs and they will blow people's minds.

* 21,28-1 Maarten nailed his drums! 7 songs in 9 hours. Way to go. Danny has been very busy with Radius so Guus, Milo and Siger have finished the two last songs for the new cd. We are very happy with the new songs! We will put new stuff up as soon as it is available.

* 16-1 Maarten is in the studio recording his drums.

* 22,23-12 Siger recorded his rhythm guitars too.

* 2,8,9-12 Guus and Siger recorded Guus' rhythm guitars. On December 2nd they tried different settings on the amp to get a great sound. And a great sound it is! Guus' guitar is growling like never before. The vibe was so cool taht Guus recorded eight songs in just two mornings. Siger will hit the studio to try to match this achievement on 22 and 23 December.

* 26-11 Guus came up with a title for the new cd. I won't tell you what it is yet, but Milo and Siger both liked it at once. We'll see what say Danny and Maarten.

* 17-11 Siger and Milo started recording rhytm guitars yesterday. Unfortunately Siger's amp blew a valve. We'll pick it up in two weeks.

* 11-10 Almost 3000! We're getting there ;-)

* 24-9 After months we finally reached 2500!! It may not seem like much but for us it's an absolute milestone!!! It has taken forever to reach it. I'm sitting here glowing behind my computer. All hail Shane Seymour!!

* 20-9 We're on the move again. Thanx so much to the new believers.

* 2-9 We had a great time at the unofficial Sellaband-gig in Leek. It is our kick off for the fall season. Siger has returned from holiday with tons of ideas! Keep a lookout for the name Awake, you will see it a lot ;-)

* Check out our new video!!! We recorded an acoustic version of "Gone" and made a video for it. It was a lot of fun to do and I think it shows ;-) It's all recorded in one take with Guus' guitar solo dubbed later. The live footage shows us having a good time on stage. Maarten didn't get to play on this version but we did manage to sneak him into the video ;-)

* A new song called 'Shallow' is nearly finished. I hope we can record a decent demo version of it soon.

About Us:
Awake is a rock band from Holland's number one rock city: Groningen. We all have deep roots in 70's and 80's hard rock and metal but everyone likes different things from that era and we all listen to very different modern day bands. Put together all the influences create an exciting mix of heavy rock with a sharp metal edge. Maarten's killer drumming and Danny's heavy bass sounds form the backdrop for Guus and Siger to play their heavy or subtle twin guitars. Above it all sound the multi-layered vocals with Milo as the absolute center.

Over the last ten years Awake has developed into a family. When we're all together it's instant fun. We've even travelled across Europe to attend each other's weddings in far away places like Wales and Italy. The result is a band that is very tight. We can play a gig at a moments notice. We just need to see if everybody can get off from work.

We're currently writing songs for our new album and we'll start recording in a little while. It will be a very diverse album with quiet songs next to some of the heaviest things we've ever written. I even down tuned my guitar to Bb for a couple of songs  and one of them is actually a love song ;-)
