I decided to try to make something more of my Hyves-page and started a public Hyves under the name "In love with god music".

I've put some nice things on that and others have followed.

I hope that it can grow into a showcase of talents and of icons of pop-music.

I feel a bit guilty not to have written anything yet about Vienna Calling (8/2/2008).

I've put a few pictures on SAB, on my page on My Space is more.

But for a complete picture-story of the evening: go to the page on My Space of my lovely Sarah, who made the pictures.

The day started very well for us: nice breakfast in the hotel, easy trip in the U-bahn and even the Bermuda-bräu was easy to find.

We are both very strict in not coming late, so of course we were the first to arrive. Sarah had trouble waking up due to a night of travelling from England on the night of the 6th and I had to fight off the effect of some Weissenbier of the night before, so we had our favorite Wiener Melange.

Maybe the smell of coffee was very alluring, but anyway after our first sips MaWa came in and after him Namor. So a believers-meeting was already there. It was very nice to meet them in person.

It became a bit more artist-believer-meeting after the arrival of Docnik who surprised Sarah with beautiful flowers. (Later we showed some ungratefulness by forgetting them when we left. Sorry, sorry, sorry.)

Solidtube had a heavy delegation after Jakob and MP arrived.

By that time we were with a nice group of people. Even Pim V. came by.

It was very entertaining to hear how everyone was switching between German, English, Dutch and Austrian (it is hardly impossible to say that this is German). And the lunch was excellent.

In the evening we went to "Replugged", as expected easy to find.

We begged on our knees to Docnik to forgive us before going in.

Kati climbed down from the stage for a little chat, she is just as nice as her mails showed me. Mandana came shortly after that to say hello to us.

We really felt very welcome!

The show performed by Rooga was very good; they grew and Kati is really loving camera's without being vain. The demo's should be redone, I think.

The sound was very solid and Kati could not even be distracted by failure of a mike.

Solidtube was a bit more Sarah's sound, Mandana was sounding brilliant and the band sounded very slick and experienced. Top! Very promising for the forthcomingalbum. 

The biggest surprise for me was Kontrust. I never ever expected them to become so good. I think all the touring they did made them into a very convincing, overblowing and very mean (in the good sense of the word) collective. Agata brought back memories of the band Guano Apes with her voice. I was stunned! They can play stadiums in my opinion.

The evening came to an end with a song performed by an all-star-band featuring Kati, Mandana and Agata: "What's going on" original by the

4-Non Blondes.

It was a great experience for us and we like to thank Docnik, Mandana and Kati (your mail was a great help!)

Terrible trainjourney ahead of us tomorrow.

It will take 10,5 hours and we will have to transfer 6 times into other trains or buses. Wish us luck!

From tomorrow till the Feb.4th I will not be online.

SHADOWS OVER OUR WEDDING

This weekend Sarah's beloved mother died.

We saw this coming but still it was suddenly.

We agreed between the two of us to get married whatever would happen, so the marriage will be there the 23rd like announced.

But the mood for celebration left us completely.

We expect to leave the 25th to go to Cornwall for the funeral.

There will be no internet, so I expect to be offline for maybe a week.

From Cornwall I will head home for the Netherlands after that.

And Sarah and I will meet in Vienna again February 7th for our honeymoon and Vienna Calling.

It would break my heart to have to send a mail with this story to every friend on SAB, so I try to communicate like this.

I do hope it will be read.

One day of work left.

Will be gone to Norwich after that and will be staying there for a few weeks.

So I won't be online as much as "normal". Other things to do.

But I expect to check things from time to time anyway.

Of course: SAB is an addiction you can's simply forget.

Yesterday-evening was really nice.

Mooncrow did a gig in Theatre Borra in our town Amersfoort.

He was the supporting act for 357 String Band from the USA.

Was supposed to play half an hour and than make way for the Americans.

Already after one song he got his flow and did stop after 45 minutes.

He really showed being at ease and said at one point to the audience:

"I'm not much of a talker, but I can hear you are." Was kind of funny at that moment.

And at the end the owner said: "You are 12 minutes overdue".

Answer: "Okay! I do another one".

Mooncrow's voice sounded live even better than over here.

And he really surprised me by doing a few songs in Dutch.

Very tasteful, I loved "De Blauwe Zee" the best of the Dutch songs. 

October 20 he will be performing again, this time in a bar called "De Rooie Cent". I'll try to be there again!

Okay, I'm weak!

I did buy some more parts.

I Hwa's deal was to much for me to resist.

And I did some more what my musical heart told me to do.

Long live Mr.Visa.

By the time I get the bill I'll figure out how to pay it.

Or just leave it for some time....

My wishlist is getting longer and longer and my money-tree is not giving much fruit. Wishing and hoping for better times.

There are also a lot of artists I would love to get more parts of.

But I'm sure there will be a change some time.

Very much looking forward to the ZWOEL-party, sept.30.

Will be great to be at.

What a wonderful party this has been, Sellabration'07!

A big reunion of one big happy family with loads of music.

It was such a pleaure to meet all these wonderful artists and fellow-believers in reality. Things that happened, can only happen with Sellaband-people. Where does it happen that an artist gets a drink for a fan?

Where do artists take pictures of fans? Where do artists watch while a fan is being interviewed for a foreign radio-station (BBC in my case)?

I have a feeling of great gratitude towards everybody involved.

I should put a list of all these great people over here.

I could give another list of people I missed or people who I wanted dearly to have been there. I'm sure there will be a next time........

Wow, I will be there august 16 in Paradiso in Amsterdam. Lucky me.

Very much looking forward to this. It will be a great show! And it will be nice to have the chance to meet some of the wonderful people who are over here.

Today, june 12th I have bought what for now my final parts will be.

I have hit my limits, even went a bit to far.

The money-tree is empty!

And still I have a wishlist and I'm sure this will grow again.

And from some artists I want to buy more parts.

I do hope that will be possible in the near future.
