It is great to have you aboard this wonderful website! I would like to offer you some tips on how to succeed on this website.
My name is Brian Taylor, I am the lead singer of Vegas Dragons. When I first came to this website I felt lost. This was all new to me and there was just so much to take in. It was a very steep learning curve.
Through a lot of hard work I was able to raise $50,000 for my band. We are recording with Sellaband right now. You can check out our profile here:
We are also trying to raise another $50,000 to get our band from Sydney, Australia to Europe to play to for our friends who have not been able to see us live yet. We are trying to do that here: Vegas Dragons Live
I have created this profile to welcome you to Sellaband and hopefully help you get started on your way to success. Firstly - This is a lot of hard work but I am living proof that it can be done.
$50,000 is a lot of money and you have to work to get it. It means keeping in contact with your Believers and getting out there and finding new Believers to join you on your Sellaband journey.
You may have the best music on this site but unless people know you are here, you will just get lost in the thousands of artists on here. If U2 or Madonna were starting out today and joined Sellaband - even they would have to let people know that they were here.
Okay, so you have signed up: what is first?
Obviously you want to find investors (Believers) who like your music and want to invest in it. The way you do this is by going to these people's (Believer's) page and inviting them to listen. Take a few moments to read any information on their page. Try and personalise the message to them and leave it on their comments section. Use their name and maybe write something that identifies that you have taken the time to read their information.
Eg: Hi there Jane,
My name is ---- and I am from band called ------. We have just joined up on Sellaband and we would love it if you would listen to our songs. We are very keen to do well here.
Thank you for your time.
Buy a few parts in yourself. This shows everyone that you yourself BELIEVE in you. It is a great token gesture to show people you are serious about your music and Sellaband. You will get that back in CDs and profits once you reach $50K.
So which Believers should you ask first? You may be better to start by inviting Believers from the list of artists that have already made 50K and by starting with the genre closest to your style of music. Here is the list of 50K artists:

There are thousands of Believers to be found here and all have the potential to believe in you!

One thing is for sure, most people don't like to be "Spammed". That is hit with the same generic message. Please personalise it and make your Believer feel special.

I really want to wish you all the very best. It can be a tough climb to 50K but it can be done. With lots of hard work and determination, you can get there!

As a new Artist on this site you must be filled with questions like: What do I do first? How do I get new fans? How do I convince fans to believe in my journey to 50k? Well don’t worry, you are not alone, and these are very common questions.
Let’s start with the most basic question: “What is SellaBand”. Primarily this site is all about musicians interacting with fans. You are a musician; your fans are what drive you. Your fans are what make you successful. And here, like nowhere else, your fans can help you get your career underway. In other words, you can’t let the money aspect of the site intimidate you. Instead all you need to do is focus on your fans, focus on bringing your music to as many people as you can, and the money aspect will start to take care of itself.
Ok, that was the easy part, now how do you start building that fan base? Well there are many, many things you can do, so why don’t we break it down into blocks and prioritize. First, let’s go over what things you can do immediately after getting signed up.
Great that should get you started! See…it isn’t so tough to get going. Now you’ve got a complete profile, you have a little bit of a fan-base ready to support you. Now how do you start moving up the charts? How do you get NEW potential fans to listen to your music? How do SellaBand believers expect you to interact with them? Again there are many different ways to do this, so let’s go over some of them.
This text is put together as a result of a thread in the forum. Initiated by Empíre of One, the idea here is to create a document which could be sent to new artists when they sign up. Using this information would help them set up their profile, learn how the community works, and avoid common mistakes when trying to reach 50k. The full thread can be found in the forum

A big warm hello!
and just a note to tell you that I have a new song I would love you to hear. It is a crazy, revved up remix of my serene "Angel" and completely different from the original. It is totally unusual for me too - like a happy accident really, but very sensuous with exotic notes of the orient and I really wanted to share it here. It will add spice to a great night out on the town or make you want to dance with someone real close. Or at least that's what it makes me feel, so I thought I'd play it for you. It was born out of too many late nights of passionate brainstorming in the studio. So please listen for yourself and let me know what you think. if you like it jump on board and i will give you the song to have for your own '-)

well Brian, I take and done all your good tips on here and thank you for that and it may work for you bro but just don't work and will not work for me or some other artists on here.
Why you may ask Brian, Well read below.
Well i am new to SellaBand Brian and only been here 5 day and from what i can see from my end here (SellaBand) don't work for all artist on here like it says it will (for example) (SellaBand) need to do a bit more to help promote Country Music Artists on here by inviting a lot more Country Music Artists from all over the world to this site to join up and (SellaBand) may need to look for believers aswell to invit to join up on Sellaband that are into Country Music Songs and like Country Music Artists as from the looks of it, The Country Music Artists on here don't get a look in at all a lot on here.
Just looks as if most of your believers on SellaBand Brian don't like Country Music or are just not into Country Music and at the end of the day it's the Country Music Artists on here and some of the other artists on here are just going to have no hope at all of makeing it.
You look at SellaBand Brian, Off all the top Artists on here that have the 50k, Not one is a Country Music Artists ??.
And at the end of the day Brian for all your good tips, I don't give Country Music Artists or me any hope at all of makeing it at all on SellaBand.
