My first buy here is on Autour de Sophie. I just LOVE what they do, especially live (although I'm probably a bit biaised by genetics ; ) but I truly believe that they can touch their audience and will win many people's heart.

Well, obviously this one was recorded on a good old mini-disc and doesnt really sound very clean.. But it's all about the groove, isn't it? Autour de Sophie can't hide jazz influences, but they melt smoothly with pop, funk or sometimes even drum and bass or binary rythms.. I've seen them live, that's were they really feel good and want to spend more time. But for now they are working on recording clean stuff, so check them out again in June... This is the second band I kept listening to on and on... Really dig their atmosphere and Emilienne's voice and vocal arrangements! Think Erikah, MeShell, Joss, Jill... I don't know her but it seems that a great personality and heritage shines through, so I can't wait to see them live! | ||||||
