About me
OH its been too long since ive written anything here. Ive been busy being a mom and having fun with my baby girl:D...Ive been around though watching and lurking. Mostly with baby on my lap and the boys running around having a party...:D. I finally have Daddy with the baby and the boys are sleeping and im gunna take a minuet to write something..haha. anyways so Jake has been busy with gigs and shows and writing and recording new stuff. Good things:D...im Still enjoying this place after a year and a half...it seems like forever ago that Jake took the stage at the paradiso. It was such a special time. I think its cool that he can claim the first ever performance for Sellaband and it was such a sweet performance too. He has come a long way in his confidence and remembering to plug in...HAHA. We have made so many cool friends and it would be so cool if we lived closer so we could have fun with them more often. Sellabanders are some of the coolest people around!! that is for sure.
So things Jake is working on...
1. DVD
So a while ago jake won the SPIN comp and for winning they are gunna loan him all kinds of awesome equipment to make an awesome DVD. His friends went to film school and are totally bad ace at making movies. THey have worked on Lost and other totally radical places...anywyas so it will be killer. We are still trying to decide how we will sell it. We are thinking it will be just a live show thing. So the only way to get it will be to be at the show. Of course that wont be true for the believers. We will make it available for the believers we are sure...just not sure how but for sure they will see it and know how cool they are cuz they are and they are awesome and we love em and anyways we wanna give perks for being soooooo freaking amazing and supportive and AWESOME!!!
2. Playing lots of shows
Jake is making contacts around the states and has had some success in getting shows and invited to cool gigs. He just got invited to Mexico. We will see how that works out but still cool. He has had a steady list of shows. You can always check em out on his myspace. He usually updates. He was in Hawaii recently to play for his home town and that was just amazing for him. He could not have had a better time. Maybe if Jack was there it would have been better:D haha. anyways. SO that was at a college..both our almamaters and it was really fun for him. They paid him pretty well and want him to come back and do a bigger show with other colleges too. They said they wanted to pay him more so he could bring the family!!! I was for sure excited about that. Its been a while. I really miss home.
So Jake has been playing at least twice a week here if not more and having a bigger show once a month. Its been exciting. Lots more work to do but like the train that could he is making it step by step gig by gig:D
3. Spreading the word at the local level:
So Jake has had lots of local shows lately and has been making some great contacts with promoters and other local bands. Its been a fun journey learning how the show rolls here. It will be fun when He is filling stadiums and sharing the stage with his heroes:D GO JAKE!!! Jake has also been working on getting his music featured in different places. He is featured on Animito right now and it would be cool if people would use his song to make videos cuz its just awesome to spread the word.
4. Touring
There are a few places Jake wants to take his show so stay tuned to hear about those. Do I hear Vegas in the works and Cali maybe?? hehe hopefully there will be some awesome sellabands who will join the ride.
5. Another round at sellaband??
He is really excited to get buzy recording another album. We do want to get some more cds sold for the believers. I personally think it is silly that he sold 5000 cds and now he is trying to resell them. Its weird for all the artists on here I think but cool at the same time cuz we get to make the believers some money. I just wish we had known about it before jake started recording. We could have made some cooler plans so they would be a little more lucrative. However. I would not be suprised if the people who in 20years still had 100 cds or so would be very happy indeed. I think sellaband is going to be HUGE!!! and in a few years ... Cubworld cds will be worth more than their weight in gold and the lucky believers who kept a few will be soooo wealthy they will be cared for for life:D... Yaeee!!!
Anyways so no set date yet for his return for his second round at sellaband. We were thinking maybe his aniversary of the release of his first Album. As a sellabration:D... we will let all the believers know first if they want dibs :D

Im gettin gready to have a baby!! number three is crazy. I put a new pic of my boys up. Soon ill be having pics of my girls too:) crazy.
Jake is leaving on Monday for Amsterdam to perform for the Paradiso. Its so sad for Nemesea and Manda being sick. We love them and are praying that manda recovers and feels well soon. This has to be a huge blow but better to get well and put on an AMAZING performance!! which it will be. I bet the tour will be even bigger and better when you do recover. everything happens for a reason.

Hawaii Happenings
Jake will be heading out to Hawaii in A few weeks to
A. see his Mom Graduate from BYUH with a BFA!!! Congrats mom and
B. To get the word out and create a buzz for his up coming pacific tour with Maitreya. Here are some of the places Jake will be when he is there:) check em out:)
Jake was recently invited to appear on the Andy Bumatai Show which is like a Hawaiian Late Night show:) We are super excited about this. The show will be recorded on December 17th. We will let you know when it will air:) SUPER COOL!!!
Island Beats have been really helpful in advice and direction for the tour and Jake and Maitreya will hoepfully be working closely with an awesome local band called: Mighty J
Jake played on the Dr. Trey show in his last visit to Hawaii and he is always listening in. The show is fun so check it out on Sunday nights.
The Tour is tenatively set in late April with Cubworld and Maitreya doing shows in Hawaii and New Zealand. Home towns for the boys:) This is going to be a fun exciting show so if you have never been to Hawaii April is looking good:) Yaeeee:) I will fill you in on Dates and times asap:)

There is an awesome collaboration in the works with fellow sellabanders Wetwerks. They are going all out and I am getting soooo impatient to share it with yall just a little while longer and it will be ready for your super cool ears:) Jake will be playing the song for the first time in front of a crowd tonight:)
Jake is always thinking up new songs. I can hardly believe it. He is like a spring of music that seems to be growing and growing the more people drink:) Yaeee:) So you can see some of his new songs on Youtube and he will be making some more videos to share soon:) Ill Keep you posted.

Several months ago I got an email from my brother telling me about Jake and his trip to Amsterdam over New Year's 2007 to put on a concert. It was a few weeks before I actually looked at the link to the FabChannel site and watched Jake, AKA Cubworld perform before a truly global audience.
Cubs' personality, charm, and audience interaction captivated me from his "ALOHA Brothers and Sisters" introduction. I then witnessed Cub forget to plug in his guitar and I was almost moved to tears as Cub started singing about Mandy and his kids. And even though the broadcast was tapped I could tell that his wife and family were the inspiration behind his music. As his voice broke and he approached disaster on stage, he had the presence of mind to keep playing and he recovered beautifully while capturing the hearts of the entire audience at the Paradiso Theater that night and anyone else like me who was watching the re-broadcast. Johan of SellaBand said," It was a magic moment in the Paradiso when Cub made believers out of everyone there. It was a magic moment that could have had a different outcome with a less skilled musician on stage. He nailed it and won their hearts." I love the duet with Sasha Bella, the other songs and the acoustic groove I've grown so accustomed to on the FabChannel broadcast.
I continue to re-watch that video each and every time I work late and I think I'm personally responsible for about 1,000 views. I love his music and the more I listen to it the more insight I get into the real Jake, his passion, his fear, his challenges, but most of all his love. Cubs' music is real, inspiring and maybe because he's my cousin or maybe because he writes about things that make sense to me, his music resonates with me and he truly has become my favorite musician.
So when Joel Kongaika emailed me telling me about the release of his CD on SellaBand I was so excited that I downloaded a few songs and started sending them to my TV producer friends across the country and before I knew it if was telling the world about something that means a lot to me--music that resonates with me, and a cousin that is beating the odds trying to pursue his dreams. I was amazed to see that in the 20 minutes that it took for me to get the email and log on to the SellaBand site 7,000 of you were doing the same thing...listening to the coolest music available from my favorite artist.
The CD was absolutely great, although I didn't like it at first (only because I was so used to the FabChannel acoustic version). But the more I listened to the CD the more I liked the different faces of Cub that the album portrays with different styles of music.
For me it was a natural progression to go from telling the world about Jake to telling the world about SellaBand. Jake put me in touch with Johan and several months later me and my company, BHG PR became the official PR agency of record for SellaBand.com. Sinc e then I've been telling the SellaBand story, and Cubworlds' story to anyone who will listen. I included Jake's story in the first SellaBand press release I wrote, drafted his bio, and coordinated an interview with Billboard Magazine. Jake's personal story was told in a feature story in the Salt Lake Tribune, Fox News Salt Lake City and on TV in Hawaii as well as through music in several concerts in London and Amsterdam.
As the main PR contact for SellaBand, I work with all of the top SellaBand artists and producers in the US and EVERYONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION, everyone who know Cub has commented on how cool, talented, friendly, and personable he is. From rock groups like Bullet Proof Messenger, to Lily, to Maitreya, to the producers at Brooklyn Noise, who said," Cub was the most talented artist I have ever worked with... to come in, and put out an entire album in a month was absolutely amazing! The coolest part was that I rarely had to edit his vocals--they were clean, and on the mark every time! It's a rare thing when I have to edit the music more than the vocals."
They've got that right Jake/Cub is a rare thing in this industry, a great musician who uplifts and inspires in a world of so used to subtle degradation and despair.

On the Home Front
Yaeee its gunna be a girl:) As many of you know we are expecting another baby in late January. We are super excited that we are going to have a girl:) any cool name ides? send them our way:)
We also are now proud parents of an almost five year old and a two year old:) Wahooo:) I love being a mommy:) its the best job ever. The hardest but the best too:)

well lots of wonderful things happened in Hawaii:) I cant believe we left. hahaha. Its good to be home. we are so excited to push jake to the next level. we are currently looking for a manager and are just so excited to get the show on the road touring:) The amsterdam selabration 07 is gunna be amazing. i wish I could be there. We have been traveling non stop for a while though and I think my kids need me:) anyways have a great time here everyone:)

The show was Fantastic. I thought everyone gave a great performance. I think my favorite song of the night was Sin City. I was standing next to whaley and Pebbles and Whaley had his eyes closed and was singing up a storm right along with Jake and Jamie. Pebbles and me GOOSE BUMPS!!!! Maitreya shed a tear or two and even hid his face for a minuet. I loved it what a powerful lyrics and a glimps at the real world and how we can make it with our friends shout out to Sloppy!!!! (SPEECH!!!) hahaha
I really loved the Burn performance as well. Holy smokes guys Mr. Rodino is a ball of fire. Wahoooo!!!!!! Cant wait to see him again live:) Really fun guy too:)
I met so many people and have so many reviews but im afraid I have to wait till morning. can I just say that every one was above and beyond!!! BPM Fantastic Lucia Iman!!!!!! Fabulous. Second person ohhhh what can I say but I just LOVE every second listening to them. And Finally Clemance:) She was so lovely and her voice is beautiful It was her first time performing the songs in english and she did a wonderful job. I loved the words:)

26 is a good number. I feel oficially grown up:) at least physically:) haha:) I have done everything Ive ever wanted to do so far:) I am gunna have to make a list of things to do before I am 30. Any sugestions? I really really love my life. I couldnt ask for more. I have a wonderful husband and beautiful children and wonderful friends and family:) I like to make goals on my Birthday. Ill have to share them with you guys so that I can be held accountable.
1. write an ispirational talk and give it to a large croud.
2. write an outline for a book
3. Keep moving towards my healthy size:)
4. take more hot baths
5. Love my life more everyday:)

Ive been watching The Secret and reading the book. I love this stuff:) Its wonderful to know that I am in charge of the kind of life I have:) I feel like I attracted so many wonderful things into my life just by having a positive attitude:) Its really cool to learn ways to make life more enjoyable:) I would recomend this to anyone:) My pholosophy is that "men are that they might have JOY" :) Joy is love and goodness and gratitude and all the good feelings all bundled up in one nice little word and emotion:) I think we are here to learn how to be happy and I intend to keep on learning that lesson:) I want to find JOY in everything I do. Especially right now in being a mommy:) Its got all kinds of challenges and I think once my kids are grown Ill be able to say k now I think I know what I am doing...hahahaha:) anyways thankyou everyone for making my birthday special:) Love mandy
Jake is home and We are back in Utah at our beautiful weed infested house...lol...I am getting quite the tan from my lawn work:) It feels so good to dig in and pull out the roots!!! I love outside work:) Id mow the lawn over doing the dishes any day:) I love the sun and I love the grass and the pretty treees. Even the dandylions are pretty:) Jakey picked me a boquet of them the other day:) gotta love that:) me and the boys worked hard yesterday and that feels great:) especially when we see our pretty yard now:) I love this place:) It feels good to be home and be a family again:)

On a sad note jakes Grandma passed away yesterday. He will be at her funeral next week and he is feeling down about that so keep him in your thoughts and prayers. She was a lovely woman a Tongan Princess:) Very sweet lady who was always getting closer to God:) It will be a wonderful day when we are all united in the life after this:) I belive we existed before we exist now and we will exist forever progressing and learning:) Death is another word for transformation. Family is forever:) We love you and will miss you Grandma Louisa...

Holy Crap was all I could think to say. I feel overwhelmed and excited and nervous. Maitreya has a great big heart and so much talent that needs to be shared with the world:) I feel really blessed to have him in our sellaband/cubworld Family;) he is a good friend to Jake and we are both so excited!!! Jake is fine staying home:) Its his turn really:) hahahaha...just kidding;) I have to admit when Maitreya told me I was freaking out a little bit. I was all shaking and stuff. What would people say how would they take the news? Brian was so so kind to me and said the nicest words and he was really the only person I wanted a blessing from. He of course gave that and more :) I am just over whelmed by the kind words and peaceful words. I am not worried about meeting any one from the forum. I hear knives are not allowed and I would love to meet any one from this really cool place and I am so excited to do so:) After all we are all real people behind our computers and once we really see how cool everyone is in the sellaband gang all the weirdness will fly out the window:) I sincearly hope so.
I have many resons for wanting to go and the most imortant one is that I am a fan of all of the acts. I love Second Person!!! I canot wait to see them again and I have been waiting it seems like forever to meet our own Mixinator and to see him live is like the coolest thing EVER!!!:) I have never seen the BPM or Lucia but I love their music as well. What a party it will be. Best everyone:) !!! I cant wait to meet everyone:) wahooo!!!
I have a feirce competitor in me though to many I seem to be just that nice girl who is smiling all the time. I have so much in me that is worth while. I know that and I know that a win in this competion means everything to my friend maitreya who is a very worth while guy himself. We worked hard together and we are all excited for the win. This means more media coverage in a place that will be most likely to accept and love his music, it means he can take the believer of his choice to the competion and it means one of the vetrans on sellaband came in number one:) It means so much because most people were rooting for him along with the other top runners. It is a good thing for sellaband and I respect M for his offer to help us help a friend.
I was myself in a competition at one time when some one asked me to loose on purpose. I was a weight lifter and I had been working for two years to take the first place blue ribon and the big trophy home:) I was a junior in High school and I tied with a senior. We had a lift off and as she walked away from her 8 reps she wispered in my ear...let me win...I thought Heck NO!!! and I cleaned it up!:) Ive been working my butt off for two years and ive earned this I stayed after class and worked harder. I got up early and worked hard I went out for sports that I knew would strengthen my arms. I had worked out my strategy cause I knew it would probably come down to a tie and I worked on reps with the plates and got it down. I knew what to do and I had to do it. It was unsportsman like of that girl to ask to win when she didnt earn it. I had worked harder and would the trophy really have meant anything to her if she knew I had just given it to her? No, I dont understand that sentiment. I think the same thing here. I dont think BPM would have wanted to win because M or anyone else was holding back. We won even by strategy and I think we deserved it. Does this story show my character? I hope so. I am all about being nice and kind and fun and when competitions come around I have fun with them win or loose but I go for it. Its all part of the sellaband fun and I have really enjoyed this all very much. I wish everyone else would as well.
So I would like to move on and see who M picks and how the concert goes!! I love sellaband and I love the competition:) Bring it on!!!
About the forum. I feel free for leaving and I really hope everyone has fun there. I felt hurt and confused and frustrated and so I left and I really am good with my choice. Coolest News letter ever #5 April 26
Well Hello again today is April the 26th and I am writing to you from My Mom's place over here in Montana:) We spent the last couple of days with My Grandparents down in Wyoming and I was with my sister the week before that:) So we have been on the road and having fun with family visiting and so on. I am glad to be back with my mom for a couple of days before Jake comes home!!!:)

Well the time has come for a new letter:) Just a few things I need to let you in on.
A. New Cubworld Hats -- Jake is now going to make customized one of a kind hats here is a sample . $15 is going to be the starting price and we will see how it goes from there.
B. New Cubworld t-shirts-- though not available yet they will be on the sellaband site soon!!! These shirts will cost probably around $30. Jake has been working with his friends to make a shirt worth every penny.
C. Cub in the news-- The Salt Lake Tribune ran another article on Jake and Sellaband!!
D. Jake has set up a Flickr Account!! There are tons of his art and photography there. Hope you enjoy he is working hard on it.
E. New York! Cubworld is coming your way!!!!
On Monday Jake will be leaving to New York to start pre production:) We are very excited about this and cant wait to see how everything goes!!!

Jake will have lots to tell us after his trip to NY. He has been working hard writing new songs and setting things up for the future. We are planing a trip to Hawaii but it looks like it will be later rather than sooner. Me and the boys will be in Montana while Jake is in New York in April. We both just cannot wait till the cd is out and everyone is enjoying the download portal. Besides music and art we are doing really well. Winter seems to be over!!! I am so proud of us for making it through our first hard core winter!!! Life is good. We had a picnic today in our back yard and just hung out blowing bubbles and playing with dinos. Oh its so nice. Reminds me of Hawaii:) Yaeeee!!! warm sun. I love it!! Jakey boy and Zion are shooting up like bean stalks. Its crazy how fast they are growing. Jakey is four and zion is 16 months now!!! holy cow!!!

Well this week the Cubworld house seemed more like a fluworld house. We were all sick. By some miracle Jake escaped the virus but me and the boys are wiped out. Man...anyways besides that Jake had a gig at the Uof U and they want him to come back so that is great!!! He has a gig this Friday too:) life is good cause Jake is home to take care of us sick babies:) Jake is getting lots of things hammered out with Robert and his producers. Very cool and exciting stuff. I think we have a good team put together and I am so excited for the outcome!!! I am getting so excited to get this under way. I just cannot wait!!! anyways Ill have more to say soon. Just excited to feel a little better so I can write some good news!!! lots of love mandy

Well Jake has been home from his New York trip for a week. During this week he made some big choices and wrote a new song and took care of us. Us includes Mandy(me) Jakey our four year old big boy and Zion our one year old monkey boy:) hehehe. Jake is really a great husband. he helps me every chance he gets and doesnt complain too often about how much I ask him to do:) he loves our boys and makes sure they know it. More nights than not you can hear him singing the boys to sleep. Its really a treat for all of us.
Jakey boy has been very interested in music and drawing lately. He is a pretty good artist. I love his designs. He is great at Dinos and people. He wants to grow up and be a triceratops and get married toanother triceratops and give her flowers like daddy gave mommy when they got maried. Very cute;)
Zion is busy climbing all over anyting he can get a hold on. He loves puling things down and laughing. He loves his big bro and will follow him anywhere. He is saying a few things. that is always fun:)
Me and Jake have been married for five years and our 8 year aniversary is coming up from our first date:) sooo fun:) we held hands for the first time on April 1 1999. Crazy huh:) to me it is crazy:) so fun:) anyways so I will keep this thing updated. I love all the new features:)

Hey Mandy!
Dan's "Video Blog" is excellent but I think the kudos should probably be heaped on whoever did the editing! There's something really natural about it, the way it flows, etc - remarkable!
It was _sort of_ fun doing the interviews, but I really was winging it - luckily all Dan's band (and Dan, and Tony for that matter) are just really easy to talk too and always give a 10 minute answer to a 10 second question!
Well your room is always waiting for you if yer ever over here ... we've left it just they way it was as a sort of shrine for when Jake becomes mega-famous ;-)

Thanks Mandy:-) I've been tryin to watch Jakes previous Paradiso performances, but that site doesn't agree with our net connection, it's soooo slow! You tube is fine though, beats me:-/
I've played along with Jake a few times now on youtube haha, oh well, one day we'll get to do it for real.
