Hi everyone,
I'm just a young guy trying to make a positive influence with my music. I'm 18 and i am about to go to college for creative writing. When i first started playing guitar a year ago, i didn't expect much else besides fun to come out of it. But when i started listening to Bob Dylan (who is definitely my biggest influence) i found out how powerful music can be. Then i realized that i could use my poetry skill, much like Dylan did, for songwriting and i just kind of took off at writing my own music from there. I know i am very unpolished in my singing abilities, but i've only been singing and playing guitar for a year, and i feel that i am making a lot of progress in short amounts of time. I've gotten many comparisons to Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground, so if you like that type of music, maybe you will like mine. But overall, I just hope that one day i can do something that will move someones life, ideas, or dreams with my music. On a final note, i'd really appreciate it if you please wouldn't consider me too young and believe that i am not committed to accomplishing anything with my music. I assure you all that, while i am still a ways off from being totally polished, i am very confident and serious about my developing my art.
Here is what some other artists have said about my me and my music:
"you come from the old school ... no matter bud it's the heart that counts ... you got a big one ... you got balls" -Tony Richards and the Kman Band
"I have an inkling that you will go far..." -Telepathy (Willow Lama)
"I like the dylan esque sound to your songs and your poetry is great!" -Ellie Williams
So, anybody who believes in helping people with their dreams, please believe in someone who has never had too many believers!
Some of my other influences besides Dylan are:
-Neil Young
-The Beatles
-The Rolling Stones
-Led Zeppelin
-Nirvana
-Bruce Springsteen
-Mason Jennings
-Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
-Pearl Jam
-The Wallflowers
-The Doors
-Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground

Hi.. just wanted to say that no, i have not gone inactive, but i am getting ready to graduate high school, so I've been rather busy with all the things that come with being a senior in high school (I'm sure a few of you have been there!) Still, i have some new material written, and i hope to record all that and some video clips. I also hope to be getting a bassist soon so that as soon as school lets out i'll try and start gigging, and perhaps raise some money for some better recordings! So, just wanted to let everyone know where I'm at and, that no matter what, i'm in this for the long run!!

heres the lyrics on the three songs i have posted:
-Look in the Mirror
Are you searchin’ for something... Or are you looking to start a fight?
I tell ya, you better stay out of sight...
I’ve told you once...and I’ll tell you one more time...
To survive here.. You’ve got to open up your mind...
And there is no reason, there is no rhyme..
(But/and) I know a man...I know him very well...oh....and can’t you tell?
Can’t you understand...Where I’m coming from...Or are your thoughts really that numb?
You come from a land....Where all the mirrors just ain’t near...your..face..
(-Chorus)
I watched you... run away from your fear..
You had a chance...to survive here...
But ya threw it away, for money so mere..
(Chorus)
Oh now, Mr. Jones.. Why didn’t you heed my call?
Was I too young...to warn you of you fall?
Or were you just to blind to see it all?
(Chorus)
In my early days, all I knew was fear...
I tried to shield my eyes, but it came in through my ears...
I saw horrors here and there, and I couldn’t escape them all..
My innocence was shot down, just for standing tall..
Searchin’ for answers in all the wrong places, and findin’ nothing in those faces...
I need somethin to clear my mind, before the answer is left behind...
(-Chorus)
I had me a pretty girl, who helped me along the way
She was good and true, every single day.....
But she was taken from me, by some horrible man..
Why I lost my love, I can’t understand...
(Chorus)
Now I’m here a thousand miles, away from my home..
From town to town, my soul it does roam..
My mind it just looks, for that one clue..
To find my answer, what must I do?
(Chorus)
(Break)
(Chorus)
We’re Through
-Brandon/Herman North
You told me you needed all my love, I told you I held nobody above you
oh what should I do? Now that we’re through....
At first you said everything was all fine, we had our fights and we had our good times too.
And what should I do? Now that we’re through...
I never wanted to tell you a lie, I promised to never say goodbye, to you..
But should I do? Now that we’re through..
I’ve been searching high I’ve been searching low.. searching for love and I don’t know if its true?
And what should I do, you said we’re through..
You said I could never do any right, you said that I always started the fights with you,
but now I’m through, I am through with you.
Well finally yeah for the first time, I’ll say what I want and I’ll speak my mind to you,
and guess what too, babe we’re through.

Hi Brandon
Thanks for inviting me to hear your music. I like your song lyrics.
You even have three guitars, so you can compose three times faster than all of us :)
Let us keep going and improving our music.
