The band started as a concept in october 2000, but with no gear, no reharsing space and no money (and no drummer) we had to wait 4 years until we produced these things :D. In 2004 we started playing live acts and we finished the compositions for 2 conceptual records. We combine music similar to Romanian folklore with
rock, sometimes metal, progressive ambiental music..Our name - BUCIUM - represents an old
roumanian musical wood instrument having ancient spiritual and cultural
roots. This instrument was used by our people, especially by shepherds,
in battle - for coded signals or in times of peace for announcements.
It actually represents a signal for gathering. Our message is therefore
the need of returning to spiritual roots and of coming through a
spiritual revival. We recorded the first LP in 2006 - february-may in Romania and sent it to England for the mastering. We didn`t like the mastering, so by september we sent it to Germany to a man who saved the album by remixing it and mastering it - his name is Franky Winkelmann and he plays bass in the famous swiss band GURD. Thank you Franky!!! From this album which was finished this mounth - march 2007 we uploaded 2 tracks - Maria and Sorbul Apelor. The album is called Voievozii (The Voivodes) and we hope we can release it asap. Â

Unfortunately, I don't think they are as original as the first I listened to. I also see business is quite slow, and you haven't updated in over a month. A pity.
