••LATEST NEWS••

Hey Guys

Just wanted to chuck some news your way from the Bundle of Id camp and what we have been up to.

This past week we have been busy recording some more material which includes an acoustic version of Take my life (which we will be dedicated to our very first believer the one and only Talentscout!) and our new rock, metal, jazz epic Atishoo (We All Fall Down).

Taking a leaf from 50k in 50 Days Ellie we plan to release these tracks on our website along with a special "believers area" that will feature exclusive interviews with us, demo songs and other Bundle of Id goodies!

We will keep you updated and meanwhile if you haven't checked us out yet do it NOW! and be part of creating the very first 50k UK rock band on Sellaband!

Cheers

The Band

So then, 4 blokes in a band, we call ourselves Bundle of id. We are four driven musicians and great friends making music that has influences from the epic stadium rock of The Foo Fighters right through to punky rawness of Billy Talent. Taking all our influences we try to create epic, loud and progressive rock music. Just as likely to throw in a blinding old school guitar solo, or driving rock riffage as to deliver a short sharp pop punk punch. We love light and dark, we love drum and bass we love metal, punk, ska and we love melody so you can expect a few interesting musical combinations in our songs. We named our band Bundle of id becuase we it kinda represents the spirit of what we do, impulsive, emotional and with passion.

The History

How we got to be Bundle of Id is as interesting as it is complex, a journey that starts in the depths of sleepy Devon.

The first musical seeds of Bundle of ID were sown in band called “Delayed FX” (www.myspace.com/delayedfx) a popular South West Based band in 2002, over the two years the band were active the often shambolic and chaotic 5 piece practised in the front room of Bassists Luke Greens flat. The flat, a notorious party house in the sleepy town of Barnstaple became the center of the world for the band and its mates. It was here Austen Morgen (Vox, Guitar) Luke Green (Bass) and later Andy Boudier (Lead Guitarist) would craft a musical relationship that was both instinctive melodic and highly productive, often writing and practicing songs with a full audience of their peers. The band drew influences from many sources including ska, rap, raggea, rock and metal and regulary played to packed sweaty moshpits around the region. Unfortunately the bands days were numbered destined only to be a local concern. Inter-band tensions and Austen imminent departure to university (which should have solidified the bands intentions) lead to it’s split in 2004 leaving Austen, Andy and Luke with a very real sense of unfinished business.

The three musicians spent the next couple of years in various bands but nothing really got off the ground, it became a stark reality that the musical understanding and chemistry so evident with 3 friends just couldn’t be repeated.

But, it appears fate was moving the musicians closer.

Fast forward 2 years to 2006 and the Delayed FX frontman Austen Morgan is singing for South London band Bifteck. Bifteck (www.myspace.com/bifteckmusic) had been together for a number of years and had established a decent fan base, they should have been moving into the next gear but Austen was finding it a frustrating experience, often bringing fully formed song ideas to practice to find that they were shut down. Gradually becoming more frustrated with the lack of creative input in the band Austen began to sense that he was heading in a different musical direction to the bands Indie leanings. In early 2007 he parted company.

Bringing us to Mid 2007 Austen calls bassist Luke Green and guitarist Andy Boudier from Delayed FX with a collection of powerful songs and burning desire pick up where the original band had so abrubtly finished. Add the final piece of the jigsaw, Drummer Dominic Cahillane of Bifteck/The Above who left the band on reliability issues and the strength of Austen's material, and Bundle of ID became a music making reality.

The band remarked about the early practice sessions that everything just clicked into place, sure there was some hard work, mainly to craft the emotionally raw songs, but the band and the music just flowed.

we hope you enjoy the results cause we love playing this stuff
