Calvin Stopes formed as a band in early 2007, consisting of three parts of an earlier music project called "Les Pasàlheures", which had been formed by Knut Wernitz, Max Zanders and Seb Bontenackel in 2005, and a new drummer, who the band knew threw Knut Wernitz's brother.

Today the band consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Knut Wernitz(22),  Max Zanders(21) as lead guitarist and violinist, Seb Bontenackel(25) on bass and Roman Grochol(25) on drums.

Musical influences are very hard to point out for the band as every single member comes from a different musical background reaching from British 80s idols like The Smiths, Ziggy Stardust, Blues and Americana legends like Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, via Post Hardcore bands like At The Drive to Rockabilly and even Analogue Electronica.

Die Band Calvin Stopes existiert jetzt seit ungefähr einem Jahr und entstand nach einem Schlagzeugerwechsel aus der Projektgruppe "Les Pasàlheures", die im Jahr 2005 von Sänger Knut Wernitz und Gitarrist Max Zanders mit Seb Bontenackel ins Leben gerufen worden war.

So besteht die Band nun aus Knut Wernitz (22, Gesang und Rhythmusgitarre), Max Zanders (21, Leadgitarre und Geige im Studio), Sebastian Bontenackel (25, Bass) und Roman Grochol (25, Schlagzeug und Engelschöre).

Eine wirkliche musikalische Orientierung ist schwer festzulegen, da viele Riffs und Liedstücke in Jamsessions entstehen und später zu passenden, spannenden Liedern zusammengeformt werden. Eigenartig hierbei sind die musiklischen Hintergründe der einzelnen Bandmitglieder, die von Punk über Britpop, analoge Elektronik und Hardrock (der Schlagzeuger halt) bis hin zur klassischen Musik reichen.

Neben der Musik studieren die Bandmitgleider: Zahnmedizin, Psychologie, Musikwissenschaft, Philosophie, sowie BWL.
