Jake Kongaika grew-up in the South Pacific heavily influenced by local island traditions and the rich musical cultures of Tonga, Samoa, and Hawaii. The melodic harmonies of the South Pacific were introduced to Jake at an early age by his father who sang the old Tongan songs to his children and inspired a lifelong passion for music and ignited Jake’s innate, natural ability. During his youth Jake picked up the nickname “Cub” which later became “Cubworld” as an expression of his own world view on life.
Cubworld received his first Martin guitar during his freshman year in college from his sister. He had no idea at the time that the guitar would help him find his own “voice” and release his inner most thoughts and feelings. Cubworld’s songs are about his sons, his wife, his morals, family, music and the other loves and passions in his life.
Cubworld is inspired by his older brother Joel Kongaika, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Bob Marley, Dave Mathews, Ben Harper, and Oasis. His first album, Step Lightly Create Out Loud is a musical journey into Cubworld’s life, experiencing a broad range of songs from soulful ballads, and upbeat ska-inspired rhythms, to modern, Indie-rock songs that are sure to inspire. Step Lightly Create Out Loud was not only the creative result of Cubworld but also the result of 686 fans from 44 different countries who invested in Cubworld, helping him raise $50,000 for a recording contract with Sellaband.com, making him the first U.S. SellaBand recording artist with this distinction.

Hey guys. Some of you might have seen some real cool slide shows made using a site called www.animoto.com. Real quick, you take photos from your computer mix it with music of your choice, submit it to animoto and in minuets they create a very pro looking video/slide show of your photos! You have to check it out if you havent yet seen it. I've been seeing a good number of sellaband bands doing it as well.
Here's the deal. I am one of animotos 'featured' artists this month 'june' which means that instead of uploading one of your songs you can pick my song to go on your video :).
I'd like to invite you all to use my song that i have featured "You Make Me Feel" and make a slide show with pictures for someone that make you "feel" :). This could be good promo for my music and a fun way to see some of your photos in a more interactive way. Could be a good "I love you" gift or the perfect happy fathers day slide show...

I'm taking off tomorrow to go get my family from Wyoming and i cant wait. Usually when i leave for a long time Mandy will take the kids up to her families place and hang out there. Even though its a good days drive i really like having them around to help with the family and being so supportive of me being gone doing shows and stuff.
I'm still on a high from the BYU-Hawaii show. If you get a sec and have a myspace account go check out pictures from the show in my picutres under "FO SHOW". The production was great and everyone did an awesome job. I will be getting footage of the show soon as well and will then try to figure out the best way to get it up for everyone to see.
Gotta run clean the house before i take off :)

Aloha friends. The big show was AWESOME!! Great turn out and great feedback. It was felt so good and everything seemed to flow with ease. The whole show was filmed so i hope to have footage to share soon from the film crew. I had a ton of fun and i feel i totally achieved my goals here. My hopes where to open more doors with this show and i think i did exactly that. I will be promoted to the other Universities on the island and brought back to play during the larger semester when the majority of the students will be on the island. There's even talk of them paying me more next time so i can bring Mandy and the kids with me next time :). That would be great. All in all the whole things was great and i was smiles from start to finish. More details and videos to come. WHAT A WEEK! :)

Indiana Jones comes out today and so i saw it, sang the national anthem for world war two vets. Man that was stressful. You think you know a song until you are put in front of people that have the deepest respcet for it that you could get mobbed if you miss a word LOL. I messed up on one chord but not lyrics which i would totally rather have done haha. Good times and good healthy stress singing that song for these men. I did a small interview with a local BYUH broadcast and sang 'Rocked Out' then took off to another EPIC band practice with the boys from Upstanding Youth and i am SUPER STOKED about the show tomorrow cause they are rocking my songs hard and i'll be getting it all on tape. Not sure when but the set up is going to be tight and i hope to be able to share it with everyone. I need to get some sleep but today was another eventFUL day. Aloha

First things first HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL MANDY! Another year im not around to celebrate her brithday because of music :(. Another reason why she is the perfect girl for me is because she is totally supportive of my dreams. Im here in Hawaii for a week of shows, promotion, and a great home coming. I will be playing a big "well paid" gig at the end of this week. Its a big deal for me cause i am playing a home town show and i havent been home in a long time so for me this is bigger then any other show i've played to this point.
I spent today crossing the X's and dotting the i's for the details of this weekends show. It's been such a learning trip setting up this legit contracted gig. Thanks to L-1 i didnt loose any hair. Maybe some stress but with out her
help on this one i'd be a reck! Thanks Logical-One.
I then picked up my Pianist from the airport, we hung out by my parents piano for a bit playing "imagine" and "mandy" haha, sang it to my wife (mandy) over the phone got a cheesy laugh then i had to head off to little house show put on by some of my home town believers the Nortons. They invited a bunch of college kids over and in there drive way i sang my heart out and invited them at the end to take my fliers that i made up and pass them out during the week to get more people out to my show on Friday. Felt good and everyone there dug the tunes so im happy and feel good about the turn out and that this crowd will spread the word. More promoting ahead as well.
Thats my first day in action and now its time for me to catch some zzzZZZzz's so i can be 110% for he big show. I've been a big sick and worried about loosing my voice but i'm feeling better. I just need to stay on top of my rest.

To all the ladies with babies Happy Mothers day! Things in cubworld are going great. I leave next week for a full week of activities and one awesome show in Hawaii. As most of you might know I'm pretty new to performing as cubworld and stoked to announce my first headlining gig. This is extra special for me cause this show is in my home town. Still kicking and singing :). I've been writting a lot latley. Actually i got offered some free studio time to record some acoustic tracks so i'll be doing that this weekend. Not sure what im going to do with the tracks just yet but i have something up sleeves. Got my mind rapping around a bunch of ideas actually. Just finished my EPK (Electronic Press Kit) so its time for me to hit up radio stations like crazy etc...See how that goes. So far i get radio play in the Netherlands and Brazil. I'd love to hear about it being played here in the US so thats my goal. Since baby Bella has arrived (a month ago) i've been hanging with the family a lot. Spring is about here and summer just around the corner. I plan to hit the road in search of some dope gigs and road adventures. I'll keep you posted on that a bit later. Things are in motion though my friends and i've been itching to record again. Thats all for me for now. Thanks for checking in. Aloha

Acoustic/Soul Wonderfull sweet voice! A lot of emotions are combined in Cubworld's music. You're an artist and a musician, and those fit perfectly well together! This is wonderfull music to relax, for example after a hard day of work. But in the evening this is nice to listen aswell!
