"Listen to your heart switch off your mind"

Ewelina Tyburowska was born on the 7th October 1983 in Poland - Cracow- the city of artists.

As she came from the family of the impressive musical tradition , music has always been present in her life. It was her father a renowned saxophonist and a clarinet player and her aunt Krystyna Tyburowska - an outstanding opera singer who introduced young Ewelina into the world of music.

At the age of 6 she started her first music school in Cracow. She studied the violin under the supervision of Roma Krzemien and later she attended the piano classes led by professor Krystyna Wieczorek. However young, Ewelina always thought that was something more to music than playing the violin and the piano and that's why she was attracted to choir singing. She joined the children vocal group Promyki Krakowa where she soon began her solo career.

Her artistic way led her to the theatre-she discovered her love for drama and continued her education in the 21st Lyceum, an artistic high school in Cracow. Given the choice of drama and music classes she decided for the latter joining the group led by the contemporary bard Ryszard Bialic. Thanks to his talent and distinguished personality Ewelina was able to discover the world of / the sang/poetry .and was encouraged to take part in numerous musical festivals and contests. Having only been 15 she was able to achieve more than other mature artists might have ever dreamt of, she gave concerts at two legendary and much acclaimed clubs, Piwnica pod Baranami and Klub pod Jaszczurami. Her performances gained her wide recognition including renowned music critics , with prof. Jan Poprawa among others. That made her take a second thought about her vocal career and change her attitude for a more professional one. She started the voice emission classes with Maria Lamers , a poet and a singer.. She joined the Cracow School of Jazz Music where she met distinguished jazz vocalists like Marek Balata-one of the leading voices of the Polish jazz scene. He was the one who significantly added to her professional development. She was taught how to phrase, interpret and improvise. She worked out her vocal style , smooth but full of emotions with a mate hue. One of the critics said that with her remarkable voice she was able to create images the way painters create pictures. Her musical sensitivity and style was shaped by listening to such artists as Astrud Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim , Diana Krall, Abbey Lincoln , Cassandra Wilson , Kurt Elling. After the first foreign concerts in Innsbruck in Austria she continued her musical education in the elitist Institute of Jazz in Katowice Here within the environment of the outstanding musicians, like Marek Walarowski, Renata Danel, Norbert Blacha , Tomasz Kalwak , Ewa Mentel hervocal talent flourished remarkably. It was also the time of her first jazz bands , new experiences, organised rehearsals and jazz events. She could express her taste for jazz standards and songs, the choice of which was far from being commercial , Ewelina tend to prefer smooth jazz- ballads, bossa novas, and funky. Smooth was also the name she gave to her group (with the leading pianist Jarema Pogwizd) For a year and a half they successfully performed in famous and celebrated Cracow clubs like Stalowe Magnolie and Harris Piano Jazz Bar.

But Ewelina did not confine herself only to the club performances. Together with her aunt a brilliant opera artist Krystyna Tyburowska, Ewelina got involved in a project aiming at combining opera and jazz. The concert took place in the Cracow Philharmonic in 2004.With the accompaniment of the Philharmonic Orchestra under Jerzy Sobenko it was a howling success.

Being a third year student Ewelina took part in the prestigious international Meeting of Jazz Vocalists in Zamosc. He had a chance to sing with the professional jazz trio RGG ( Raminiak, Gradziuk, Garbowski). Her great talent was appreciated once again and the jury of the festival with its honourable member Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski awarded her with the promotion to the second stage of the competition. It marked another great step in her career.

One of the greatest inspirations on her artistic way came from Radek Pliszka a musician and a music arranger .That was exactly how the project Rituals of fire originated, the project which according to Ewelina has changed her musical sensitivity for ever The effect of the co-operation of the two artist who happened to represent two different musical backgrounds was the original music within the mainstream of the New Age music. Since than Ewelina has been fascinated with ethnic music with its wide background of the Arabic , Indian and African roots, it gave her freedom to mix styles and energies, to improvise , compose lines of vocals and choirs , fuse jazz and ethno.

It bore fruits in another daring undertaking. The proposal came from the Vivacity music agency and thanks to her manager and a friend Amer Qadri Ewelina was given a chance to give concerts in Dubai on the eighth level of Media Radisson Sas where she was performing with Kamal Mussallam Group. The musicians of the group had earlier played with Pat Matheny, Anne Ducros and Stanley Jordan. Ewelina's concerts as usual met with standing ovation.

In 2007 she met exellent cuban singer and dancer Mili Morena. She had earlier played with Jose Torres and Omena. They are working about some project with latino music, and playing concerts in Warsaw at Dekada Club.

Eveline still looking for new experience in her profession, and interesting musicians with open mind and magician soul...

Viva for all musicians! Enjoy our profession!!
