Howdy!
Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!
This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate parts for the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."

There is no getting around this fact: Sellaband is LOTS and LOTS of hard work. $50,000 USA is a lot of money and it can be raised but you must get and stay active.
I spent an average of 4 hours per day over 10 months to raise the money - sometimes a lot longer.
It was a struggle for me first up to get going because I had no idea where the hell to start. Here are some things that I would recommend to you:
1. Post often on the forum. Be part of the community. Let people know you are there!
If you post often there it will be a huge step forward because you will get noticed by many believers.
2. Contact Believers and ask them to have a listen to your songs. Be personal. DO NOT cut and paste the same message. It annoys a lot of people and it will turn people off listening. Take the time to be personal and it will make a big difference.
Put the message on their page, not in their personal inbox. It annoys lots of people and turns them off. What is the point of using the inbox unless it is personal? Let the world see your comments on their page! However please read the INFORMATION on the Believer's page first, as some people have different ways they want to handle communication.
I would like to recommend that you leave a message on many of the prominent Believers. Talk with Lucretia - she is a great Believer and will help you if you need it.
Basically: Talk, talk, talk! Chat with artists that you like, chat with Believers. Become part of the community. Let this loving community know that you are here. Just chat about music and life and have fun.
I think you should also look at Maitreya (now a "recording" artists) and watch his video - it will be a big help.
May I also recommend that you ask ALL of your friends and family to join in your journey. Also maybe you should invest in yourself! Show the world that you believe in you!!!
