Have a listen to my new song Mr Blue. At maximum volume.
I´m part of The Collaboration Project, check it out. Here´s a link to the standalone jukebox featuring all the songs on the project.
I also belong to a new production and songwriting team with Kostek Andreev and Casper van Vulpen with MaWa taking care of business. Simply irresistible ;-)
My old stuff on Ebay. Get it while it´s still cheap! Or at Amie Street.
How Sellaband works /myspace / hyves / Homepage
This is what Adam Sieff said about me in Tribune 66.
"Aussie veteran of UK and German bands, a jingle and musical writer with a distinguished CV, Grant's "Longhair Music" has to be one of the best things I've heard on SellaBand in ages. With a Bo Diddley groove that's a mile deep and a chorus that takes off into overdrive this deserves to be a hit of epic proportions. He looks like a real character too."
Thanks mate, it was a very warm welcome.
Thank you to everybody who´s shown an interest in my music and especially to the pricelessly fabulous believers. I won´t let you down.
Here´s my story so far for you to read at wikipedia
*******************************************************
I left my homeland Australia in the 70´s for London, where I recorded various albums and singles for my bands The Soho Jets and Razar, produced by The Who producer Kit Lambert. From 1981/84 I worked as the singer in the German band Nervous Germans.
1985 was the year I moved permanently to Germany where I established myself in the music business, writing lyrics for many different artists and also singing both in the recording studio and on tours as backing vocalist for major artists.
In 1996 I recorded and wrote the lyrics to the German hit “Everlasting Friends” which was used as a TV jingle for Holsten Pilsener in Europe. I have since written the lyrics to 2 successful musicals; “Die Schöne und das Biest” and “Robin Hood”.
I have written and performed advertising jingles for among others, Rover 2000,
C & A, Yellow Pages, DAB Pils and all types of household goods from toothpaste to WC ducks.
Some of the artists I´ve worked with either as singer, producer or lyricist:
The Window Speaks, , Die Schöne & das Biest (Musical), Peter Hofmann, Jennifer Rush, Christopher Cross, Percy Sledge, Jürgen Marcus, Rhythm Corporation (Wild for you, C&A TV and cinema Spot), Noble Creed, Triumvirat, Depp Jones, unheilig, Bilgeri, Michelle, Barry Ryan, Dan McCafferty, Chris Norman, Sash!, Johnny Logan, Bela B, Far Corporation, Gerd Köster, T.V. Smith, Peter Fleischmann (Es ist nicht leicht ein Gott zu sein, film title song „Hard to a god“), Obsession (lyrics to Soundtrack for the Peter Sehr film starring Heike Makatsch and Daniel Craig), Rover 2000 TV Spot, Solo Album on CBS (1989), and the "Grant Stevens“ Solo Album (1999, on EMI), Robin Hood (german language Musical).

I´ve put up a new video at YouTube. Click here to view it.
In the same week that EMI announced another 2000 job cuts and displayed a contempt for their long tradition of finding, signing and DEVELOPING new music, the opportunity to join SAB seemed a refreshing alternative. Even as a former EMI artist I have little sympathy for the major labels and their self-inflicted demise. Their greed and self-interest which was more than evident in the debacle known as the fight against downloading (and many moons ago, taping) “piracy” comes back to haunt them. A pity for the ex-employees. If they had used the squandered millions to develop new technology and new artists the story may have ended differently. To say they were protecting copyrights is only half of the truth. Shareholder value need not be the enemy of creativity.
The way SAB lets the buyer and listener decide which music he or she wants seems like an idea plugged into the mood of the times we live in. It would be naïve to think that they don´t want to see profit, of course they do and already are; the interest accruing on the invested capital of the fans grows daily but is transparent.
Can I start a debate here? In the name of my own self-interest I would also be extremely curious to know what you think of my own current music.

funny, if you don't know a band, but you recognize one of the bandmembers' name, if you search it.
Anyway, i hope you'll have a great sunday!

Plenty of experience in the business, plus a strategy for how to make the SAB model work its magic, plus a healthy level of cynical irony and wit, plus a blues/rock sound that carries that attitude flawlessly. This is a combination of elements that should draw any believer's interest. |

Well if i don´t believe in myself how can I expect you to? The whole SAB concept is excellent but there´s probably still room to improve. At least it´s going to be an interesting ride. |
