Info
Immortality are a tech-rock band from Auckland, New Zealand.
Visit http://immortalrock.orcon.net.nz for more info and downloads.
Influences - Sigue Sigue Sputnik, horror movies, Gary Gygax, Rammstein, Bollock Brothers, Bela Lugosi, Bob Moog, The Millennium Falcon, Trevor Horn, Angus Young, The Time Lords, Eric Cartman, Ed Wood, Portishead's Adrian Utley and the true immortal, Stephen King.
The Songs:
Will I Die Tonight is directly out of the stage musical and still needs some work on the lyrics to be radio ready, but you guys can get a taste of the song an were we're going with it. We're in the studio working on the final mix of this and three others - will post on the website. Stories about a guy turning into a vampire. Musically its Gunfight At The OK Corral vs Kill Bill vs 80's synth pop....
Save Me (From Myself) is taken from a stage show musical about vampires, and is the story of a woman fighting to control her inner demons. In the musical she had been recently turned into the undead by a man she was in love with - whom she later finds out to be a vampire.
Is This Love is an edited remix of one of our early dance floor tunes. A slightly darker anti-love song with lots of cool power chords. This version is quite long and slightly over-produced (yeap, 6-part vocal harmonies at one point towards the end), but there is a shorter 'radio edit' I'm working one now which I might replace with later.
Post comments, good or bad, constructive though would be nice. Any Kiwis out there drop a comment and say gidday.

Howdy!
Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have $9999 or less in budget on 25 October.
This is a great opportunity for you. Let all your believers know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate parts for the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."
Hope you join in on the fun and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

DID DRACULA DISCOVER DISCO DOWN UNDER!? I HAVE A FUNNY FEELING ABOUT IMMORTALITY! I THINK THE MOOD IS VERY UPBEAT AND SLIGHTLY CELTIC! I SUSPECT SOME IRISH OR SCOTTISH BLOOD MAY BE PUMPING ON A RUSH TO THE HEAD OF ONE OR MAYBE MORE OF YOUR CHOSEN BAND MEMBERS? I SUPPOSE YOU'LL WIN THE RUGBY AS WELL NOW? ANYWAYS...I LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT HAS ITS OWN IDIOSYNCRATIC ATMOSPHERE. GOOD WISHES TO YOU. WILL CHECK YOUR OTHER SITES OUT. IF YOU GET A MOMENT, CHECK OUT MINE, UNDER THE NAME....... K.Y. MCKAY. POWER TO YOU.

Work is a little slow, but otherwise things are going along quite nicely. Great to hear you've got some more tracks in the pipeline - people can get a bit worried if an artist hasn't updated their profile in a while.

Electronic rock with dance leanings. Think rock opera combined with horror influences and you won't go far wrong. "House on Craggy Spire" is the must-listen track here at the moment. |
