We play instrumental music that mix elements of jazz, fusion, progressive rock, folk and world music. In our music, arranged parts are as important as improvised solos.Thanks to that, every concert is different:)We come from Olsztyn in Poland. We played our first concert in 2002 as a "Bezsennosc" :) I belive that you wouldn't be too happy to pronounce it. Thats why we've decided to rename ourselves to "Insomnia". Unfortunately, during theese couple of years we didn't have too many opportunities to perform, because some of us moved to another city. But this summer we met in studio to record theese 3 songs. Hope you'll enjoy:)
In "East Of Paradise" there is a voice of Sloma. He is our friend from Egipt, who we met by accident in Olsztyn. We asked him to sing for us and recorded him in some basement. It was before ours studio sessions.
"Obierek" is inspired by the Polish folk dance: OBEREK, but the word OBIEREK means PEELING (like potato peelings)

28 października 2007 zaczął się nowy konkurs na sellaband. Można wygrać kilka akcji (parts) i uczestniczyć w ciekawym muzycznym doświadczeniu. W przybliżeniu powiem, że chodzi o święta. :)

Zajebiste! Love the music,
can hear alot of polish influence, together with the arabic vibes etc. Jobs a gooden.
Ill refrain from too much more polish, since ,my polish is far from conversational yet!
Just thought id do the round and say a big czesc to all my Polish comrades!

Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!
This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.

They are really amazing! Perfect mixture of traditional and fusion and progressive rock with superb fiddle, accordion, acoustic guitar and drums. With 3 songs, you can easily know how they are good. |
