Without Excuse_

Hey there. Nice of you to drop by.

Without Excuse, which is a working title at this point, is made up of Dan Woods, Jen Woods and Jamie Richer.

The music posted here is mostly stuff I do myself using various computer programs, an acoustic guitar, a keyboard, my voice, duh, with a little help from my friends.

I will post some bio stuff for Jen and Jamie down the road but for now here's a little bit about me.

I'm Dan and I'm47 and have been hanging and working with and in bands for about 40 years. I'm from Ottawa and that's where most of my experience has come from. I have been an underpaid, overworked, underfed, but very happy roadie, done sound and lights for big and small shows, sung, played bass, drums, a bit of guitar, some keys and recently the harmonica! I've played indoor and outdoor, in front of large and small crowds, original and cover music with full bands, as a duet and solo. I've been blown up, left behind, played air guitar for an"ill' band mate, climbed to stupid heights with no support and lived the old saying, the show must go on.

I come from a heavy/progressive rock background but only love one kind of music, good music. Although there maybe some genres where I haven't found good music and some styles where I have only liked one, maybe two songs, I believe that there's potential in all types.

Since becoming a follower of Jesus in 1984 music has taken on a whole new meaning. What I do and why I do it has become very important.

I am a family man with 3 kids, two grown and living on their own and a 4 year old son who thinks he can make it on his own but were gonna look after him for a while yet anyhow.

I have a home project studio and do a lot of my own recording with input from a couple of friends and my wife Jennifer who is an amazing singer in her own right.  I am still discovering my sound and style and not sure where it is all gonna end up but enjoying the trip.

This is already too long so I'm gonna stop here.
