I am going to record a video for you lovely people next weekend, I'm leaving the choice up to you, the audience, and the track that gets the most votes will be the one that I put on my page. The video will be recorded on April 20th, and the Believer who puts the most parts between now and then will get their name in the video, and thus internet immortality (again, in some cases I suspect).

So drop me a line with your choice of Sellaband track, and if it wins, it shall be so.

and if your lucky you might get to see a backing group. It'll be like the Jacksons, only older and messier.

The subject of artist names has cropped up on the forum, and it prompted me to clarify my position. I have been asked several times "what's with the Alex/Joe thing?", and it's a fair question. I am Joseph Alexander Marczak, so I am Alex, and I am Joe. I have been tinkering with the artist name to improve my search potential on the internet, because I am known in equal measure by both names (essentially depending on whether its a family or friend connection). I decided that my family would be more likely to invest if my "given name" was on here, whilst you will find that my myspace page, geared less to family and more to friends, is more Alex-centric.

Rest assured though that I will make a decision about my artist name properly, long before I reach 50k, and also rest assured that I will stick with it. And of course you can be sure that both Alex and Joe appear on every track.

And I hope you Believers are enjoying your gift.

A new month, and new material is beginning to form. Over the last few months I've been co-writing and rehearsing material with my band, whilst still writing solo ideas down. The result of this is a very wide range of genres and styles, varying from acoustic solo to full-on rock. The album is called "This Mess I've Made" and is about 33% complete.

Sneak previews are available on my myspace page and I've uploaded two of the tracks to an indiestore page where you can download them. As always, feedback is much appreciated, particularly as musically its a departure from the songs on here.

Following a blinding idea on the Forum, I advise you all to follow aje1000's example.

Step 1. Take a plain template in Word, paste in the Sellaband logo

Step 2. underneath write the following: "Do you want to Believe in new music? Do you want to help change the rules of the music business? Go to www.sellaband.com/jamarczak to find out more."

Step 3. Every time you receive junk mail with a franked return address, print off a leaflet as per above, stick it in and send it back.

All that free postage shouldn't be wasted surely?
