Jenny in Cage & the Physalis...
Love in a Cage symbolises the universe of Jenny in Cage.
After flowering, its calyx grows in the shape of a cage surrounding its fruit, imprisoned by wrinkled sheets which form an opaque rampart isolating it from the world. In this inviolable cocoon, the fruit grows, opens out, fades, then breaks up and ends up dying, then exposing to all its hidden architecture, the cage, like its ultimate secret. A protective and destructive cage, universal to all beings...
The cage represents these obstacles that we set up as absolutes, but also all the rules imposed on us. It reflects all types of addictions in which control escapes us little by little to deprive us eventually of any space of freedom.
Our music attempts to defy its influence by ridding of all fetters. The colour of Love in a Cage evokes both passion and anger, that of our music attempts to unite them.
However, depending on the species, Love in a Cage can be hallucinogenic and enibriating. Just like music...
