Hi to All, and blessings, thanks for checking us out i am Kevin Haynes Bandleader of Grupo Elegua. The band's music is a mix of contemporary Afro Jazz its influence is modern Jazz harmonies with Afro Cuban yoruba Folkloric bata druming fused with some Nigerian Yoruba Bata drumming and praise songs. Iam a Alto saxophonist and percussionist , I specialize in playing Bata drums conga drums from Cuba and Bata drums from Nigeria, i'm also the writer and producer of all the music. I’ve been working with Grupo Elegua Band for 10 years now and the band has toured the UK & Europe. They are two Albums out under Kevin Haynes Grupo Elegua name,there is,Tomorrows path and Ori Ire. Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!
This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate parts for the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."
