NEWS:
Fabulous... Now, after a bit more than two years on MySpace, we reached the mark of 10.000 friends. Thanks for adding! On this momentous occasion we pimped our profile a little bit and decorated it with selected live-pics. Have a look!Much to our regret we had to cancel our show at the Hogbar Golling past Friday. It’s not that we’ve been too lazy to play... No: Our vehicle put paid to our plans to go there. Sorry Golling! Anyway, the following gig at the Judgement Night Festival therefore was extremely energetic. Thank you Wels!

the past and this new song only reinforces what I've already said...I
don't understand how this band has escaped the attention of major
labels. Absolutely original and one of the best bands on the Sellaband
artist roster. Lead singer Agata is a star. Period. And the band
absolutely rises to her level. I don't go out much, but this is an act

"Kontrust is a band out of Vienna, Austria. I listened to the three tracks posted on the Sellaband web site
and my only question is, why is this band not already being ripped off
by a major record company? This is a REALLY good act! I would love to
be in Vienna for their show on June 30th to see for myself if they are
for real.
The
songs are interesting and performed with vicious commitment. These are
excellent musicians who deliver tracks with a very mature and
aggressive precision. The lead vocals are masterfully performed and
there is just enough grit to let you know that this is Rock with a
capital 'R' although the meticulous musicianship is hard to hide.
Now
keep in mind that the tunes on the web site are mp3's and they just
don't sound big enough for my taste. This band should be taken in
large, loud doses...really loud doses. With the proper production
facilities and equipment, and with adequate financial support, Kontrust
will turn some heads. They certainly turned mine."

Rock on Kontrust! Great heavy rock that just makes you want to listen, and listen, and listen, and believe. I've got a copy of "We!come Home", it's a truly excellent CD containing all those Kontrust songs you've come to know and love. If you're planning to get to 10 parts you will really enjoy it. |

This group is magnificent live and the recording on Sellaband does not do them justice. I understand that they are trying to hit the eastern European market, which is good as the name "Kontrust" does not readily mix with western Europe (ie America and England). There is a pronounciation difficulty for me (being English) which I did not overcome without Albert's help.
See them live YES and lets hope they get a good recording contract so that the live atmosphere may be transferred to a recorded medium. Sellaband has not done that yet for them.
My "famous" correlations would be The Creatures "hai" or "Anna Mudeka" but you probably wouldn't have heard of these. Anna Mudeka comes from Zimbabwe. |
