Info
Formed in September 2006, local group Baker’s Boys is a varied ensemble focusing primarily on original music. Best described as Folk Rock, Baker’s Boys songs ride a wide variety of genres and forms. Male and female vocals, saxophone, mandolin, trombone, guitar, flute, harmonica, bass, various percussion, and even the occasional clarinet, compose their unique sound.
Acoustic performances entirely feature original music primarily composed by Pennsylvanian native Krys Baker, the Baker of “Baker’s Boys.” The songs are a living journal of her varied experiences, triumphs, and disappointments.
Shows are always unique and compelling.
Currently the group is working on their first CD entitled “White Roses.”
Krys Baker (Vocals/Piano/Guitar/Clarinet/Sax/Trumpet/Accordion)
A classically trained musician, Krys began singing and playing clarinet at the age of six and then added various other traditional instruments to her repertoire, including piano. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Duquesne University,Pittsburgh, where she focused in voice and saxophone. Presently, she teaches music at a local elementary school. She was one of the musicians in the original trio Triple Notch preceding Baker's Boys. Krys started writing her own music at the age of fifteen.
Greg DiCristofaro (Trombone/Flute)
Michael Snider (Mandolin/Nose Flute/Vocals)
Poet and mandolinist Michael Snider writes poetry in traditional forms and has spent much of the last four years playing music he's never heard with musicians he's never met. He's very glad to have a home with Baker's Boys.
Ed Stachyra (Bass Guitar)
Formally trained in Alto Saxophone and Electric Bass, Bass player Ed Stachyra has played bass for various rock bands in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a true fan of art and music of all types. Ed prefers his bass lines low and clean, and enjoys holding down the band's low harmonic solid rhythm. Having a natural knack for the driving melodic rhythm of the bass, Ed now plays his bass lines for Baker's Boys. Ed plays G&L bass guitars with Crate and Mesa Boogie amplification.
Brian "Sully" Sullivan (Guitar/Vocals)
A self-taught guitar player for over 32 years, Brian has played with numerous bands and great players during that time. The guitar has brought him from the garage to Atlantic City, to the New Towne Players in Leonardtown playing guitar and singing back-up vocals for the TNT rock opera, The Point. He was one of the musicians in the original trio Triple Notch which preceded the Baker's Boys. A versatile musician, he also plays bass for his church band in Calvert County. Sully also writes songs and parodies of other songs in his spare time.
