Gorgeous sound scapes, echoed vocals and magical effects compliment the amazing lyrics of Lady Haidee. A woman who has soared through the Sellaband story, finding her place within the first page. Her music reflects her Sellaband personality- mysterious but relatable. Her lyrics approach real life themes that many wouldn't dare question such as the brutally honest 'Fashion Slave'. With her alluring voice providing an outlet of her truth and honesty. Her bravery doesn't stop there, as her music defies genres with its gothic, rock, indie, pop and industrial undertones- what draws many into Haidee is her unpredictable behaviour and sounds. With a talent that is unquestionable, she deserves to speed to 50K, and with a huge fanbase she certainly seems to be doing so. One listen is never enough with this kind of music- so check back and soon you'll be enthralled! |

LAdy hAIdEe... wow... it still remains a mystery to me why this wonderful gothic-like singer has not got more believers. Is there any too strong originality in her work? I heard a lot of bands who are more gothickkkk-signed than her R.I.P, Fashion Slave and VeNus. If it is her weird - and beautiful - vocal modulations which repells listeners who are not used to these strange sounds, it would be surprising me. Anyway, she has a few huge believers and she deserves it so much! I can't wait for getting my CD and have a higher taste of her close-to-dissonancy in my car. Gonna be so delightful! Hey Lady, you're working on the SABshore and on the edge of the normal human world... nevertheless you made it! Congrats! Give us a brilliant CD, I'm sure you do. |

Lady Haidee didn't grab me right away the way some of the earlier recommendations from my review contest did, but R.I.P did have a nice haunting mood that made me want to hear some more. In some places she reminded me a just a LITTLE bit of Garbage, but only in a vague way. I don't want to try and pigeonhole her since she does sound unique, just trying to give an idea of what sort of genre she belongs to. I mulled about it for a while on whether I'd want to buy a part or not, but seeing her up at the top of the list now, I decided I don't want to miss out! |

Great range of voice (and I'm probably missing some high notes because of age). From marrow shaking treble to deep hearttouching lower ranges. Surprising turns and twists in the melodies all the time. |

LAdy hAidEe's music for me brings back memories of the eighties. Mind you: not the memories usually associated with that period (big hair, dull music) but memories of some bands I really appreciate: Depeche Mode, Dead can Dance, Sisters of Mercy. The Lady really shines in Phantom Love: If David Gaham were female, his name would be LAdy hAidEe. Funnily enough, although the music has this goth/eigthies feel it also sounds very modern. In short: I love it. And the best: you can help out getting these gems recorded! |

One of the things I was looking for when I first came to SAB was a broad range of music; and while I didn't see it at first, it's certainly here.
LAdy hAidEe has a very distinctive sound. At times breaking away from the normal expectatoins about melody and rhythm, her tracks could fool you. If you're not paying attention, you might think there were nothing to hear; but do pay attention, and you soon realize that this is not the chaos it might at first seem. |

I would start by assuming that everyone knows Lady Haidée - she is a mainstay of what Sellaband is - part of Pim's philosophy is to bring forward artistes who are not mainstream (whatever that means!) but 'different' in some way to introduce variety into the music industry. Haidée always aims to be mysterious and undoubtedly sexy. I particularly like the description of a fantasy about her from an 'admirer' on her profile blog tab under 23OCT07 - go and read it! I think I could empathise with the writer, were I in such a position! She deliberately cultivates this fairytale air of mystery and sensuality in many of the lyrics of her songs and then tops the songs off with such a laid-back presentation that it suggests to you that she is singing slightly flat, but however she achieves this effect, it really works and definitely achieves her aims! She always seems to be acting and even has amusing snippets of a film called 'Screaming Blue Murder' up on YouTube, one of which perhaps seeded the anonymous admirer's fantasy! |

Despite nods to Siouxsie, The Cure et al, Haidee sounds unlike anyone else I have come across. Sensuous and sexy to look at, she somehow converts this into the music, which is dreamy and atmospheric but packs an erotic punch. She is also one of the most determined SAB artists I know, with a clear artistic vision (musically and visually) and a total conviction that it will sell. Success is guaranteed! |
