Last Breath Denied (metalcore from Lisse) www.myspace.com/lastbreathdenied   Joep Berbee – vocals Orhan Smits – bas, vocals Herman de Vries – guitars Joost van Luik – guitars Eelco van der Meer - drums   Two well-received ep’s, recordings on various compliations, some very convincing results in Dutch band competitions and over seventy shows throughout The Netherlands. These are the results of almost four years of Last Breath Denied. But, more significant: the five-piece have since become a strong, brutal metal band with an outstanding live reputation. Time and time again, the group puts out an exceptionally tight show on stage, easily comparable to big names in the metalcore genre. In 2006 alone, LBD already shared the stage with Hand to Hand and Scars of Tommorow (US), Six Reasons to Kill (D), Hatesphere (DK) and Blind Sight (NL), among many others.  The band is heavily influenced by melodic metal bands like Killswitch Engaged and Unearth, but the band tries to take aspects of every modern metal subgenre. Bleeding Through, Chimaira, Hatebreed, Terror and even Slayer have all left their marks. Furious riffing, brutal breakdowns, melody, emotion, LBD’s music has it all. If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
