Big Plan:
We will give all of our revenues* to our believers
starting august 1st of this year.
Before you read the big plan, here's some wonderful news on the creative side:
Marco Galliano (Marcog) has agreed to become the fourth member of Laudanum. He'll add a crucial dimension to the music, designing the webpages for the songs, building the website, outlining internet strategies with us, and playing the lead triangle.
The big plan then.
We are going to sell our songs on every possible website.. (we're on Amiestreet since a few weeks ... check it out.)
You’ll receive the percentage of income equal to the percentage of the 50K you have invested in us. So, if you have one Laudanum part, you get a 1/5000 part of the money we make.
Believers will get screenshots of our earnings on the different sites each month. The last day of each month we count believers and calculate who gets what. We give ourselves untill august 1st to organize the accounts. And then we'll let the believers know how they can help out on each site. The specific site-strategies will be posted on our own new website (Marco's working on that one).
Pay out is when we reach 50K. If you have left us by then, you loose your share.
As we are at 3,4K now, that indeed means a big part of our revenues (93,2%) doesn’t get divided yet. But that money will be kept aside and will be divided among the believers as well when we reach 50K.
During the “recording period” the deal doesn’t change.
When the album is out, the deal will be about the recorded songs only. And the way the revenues are divided changes slightly, as Sellaband gets 1/3 of the revenues on the recorded songs for two years. But we’ll add our 1/3 to the 1/3 for the believers.
When Sellaband looses its 1/3, two years after, we keep 1/3 of the revenues on the 50K album for ourselves, and we give the believers the remaining 2/3 … forever (while normally you stop sharing revenues all together). We keep providing you with screenshots, and pay out will be once a year.
We’ll have to find a way to bind us to that promise legally, we know. Suggestions are welcome!
How will we promote our songs?
(we take about a month to write and record a song)
Every song gets its own web page (made by the indescribable Marco Galliano), and each one will have a different atmosphere to give the song an extra dimension. Here's an example: Special page for Astronomy: read the Walkthrough to win 2 free laudanum parts.
In time, every song will get its own video clip as well. We have the equipment, but it may take until 2009 before we start making them.
The covers, the personalized versions and revenues on a song written for you will still be available, but only for the first 60 believers.
*as for the collabs, keep in mind we can only give you our own share

Monday morning 23 june (Naf)
Yesterday evening we went out to take some pictures and discuss the "big" strategy that will be revealed in the Q&A on the next Tribune. This may well proove to have been our most important "meeting" ever.
Tuesday afternoon 10 june (Naf)
Astronomy needs another week. Recorded drums for Haunted (cover for MaryJo). Working on a build up for Could Have Been (collab with Moorlandt, Kristen, Annie Bacon and MR10). And fantasizing about Jurgung Meister (collab with Telepathy).
Thursday morning 29 may (Naf)
We scaffolded Astronomy yesterday. We have a basic structure. And now the fun part begins: putting together pieces of the puzzle. We had a bit of time left to take some pictures at a haunted abandoned factory in one of the old harbors of Antwerp.
Sunday afternoon 18 may (Naf)
We (Kathleen and I) have been listening to Telepathy and Annie Bacon (collection of both I put on a CD) this afternoon, and what a wonderful combination it was. Will add some Celine Wadier to the playlist soon.
Wednesday evening Laudanum will celebrate 3K and take some pictures at a haunted house. After that we'll discuss our future, which undoubtly will look brighter after every beer we drink ...
Monday night, 12 may 1:00 'o clock (Naf)
Just got home. Pat and I spent the day with Kristen and Walt. Love both of them for many reasons. Miss them already. Feel like holiday camp is over.
Ofcours I checked Sab before going to sleep .... and got overwhelmed all over again by MaryJo's move on the cover incentive. Her taste of music is so close to mine (ours) and that makes it all the more beautiful. She showed us Sucht and the music she wants us to cover will be a whole new discovery for us ...
Saturday, 10 May (Naf)
Lovely day:
- work a little in the "garden" (5 on 5 meter)/
- experiment with provisional drum recordings for Astronomy, and find the ideal key to sing it (as the BOC singer has a higher voice)/
- still changing some mixing details on Rockstar before putting it on the CD for Paul; it will be shipped to Brighton on monday.
LYRICS
Induction
Allowing me to find you here
Lifts me up where I’ll be
Longing for your more even more
Your images manage my dreams
Whispers drawing me out and pulling me in
Counting me down from 10 to 1, and suddenly
Your mind inside mine
Are you killing time?
Or merely extending the line?
My thoughts welcome your needs
You smile at what I see
Our faces are leafs dancing freely high above the tree
The old Oak Tree watches, summoning the winds
He breeds what we are made of, as He sings:
Your mind inside Mine
Are you killing time?
Or merely extending the line?
Dawn will break, with his searching fingers
Gushing the love that lingers
We count from 1 to 5
We go down, have a long breakfast and do the dishes

Intriguing! I am compelled to listen, again and again. |

Induction is a nice hypnotic song. Hypnotic languaging makes you go down into a light trance that they count you out of at the end and make you want to do the dishes. |
