Ok, so things have been a little slow of late. However we are organising gigs like crazy, so if youre in London in the coming months we will almost certainly be playing! Awesome. X

3/5/7

Ok, so countdown to gig- 17 days to go at Dublin Castle. Should be amazing. We're headlining, and we had a practice last night- it was amazing.

AMAZING!

55th! Sorry for the ridiculous hiatus, we have been organising gigs like crazy and the ones we have coming up are pretty amazing!

Dublin Castle on 20th May and Metro 8th June. We are also about to start planning a tour so stay in touch for more details.

Ok, so Im pretty sure I said we were going to hit 1000 last week. hmmm. Anyway, I thought I'd put up a really random song that we don't really play anymore to see what people thought about it. Also, while trying to get more publicity we are now on     http://www.capital-multiply.co.uk/leopold. Please drop by and give us a rating so we can get on the radio and then sell a whole load more shares.

Peace out

Ok, so there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of interaction with all our believers. But I have crazy amounts of news- Our line-up is now complete! We are now toting a full band with Wez having come back from his extended holiday, so get ready for some crazy gigs coming up. We all went for a drink last night, and came up with a pretty fool-proof plan for world domination.

Also, we are going to start taking a laptop with wireless internet on it to our gigs and make people sign up to sellaband at the venue itself.

In other news, I'm still living at home and I hit a snooker break of 21 yesterday. FOREVER!

Ok so just checked Sellaband Tribune, and discovered that we have been awarded an Adam's Apple. Couldn't believe it. But it's true. This is what he said:

"One band that certainly has got its act together is Leopold – in fact, almost getting close to overworking it. But don’t let that put you off, this is a British rock band with a lot of style and good songs that improve with listening. I’ve got a feeling that they’re going to be very successful here, so enjoy “Man Of Leisure 2” which is an excellent pointer to what they can do."

Ok, so maybe I was getting a little ahead of myself with 1000. $510? Thats pretty good for a week I guess. There's no harm in shooting for the stars, as it were. Am going to hear a new version of Killing Time tonight at freddie's, and thanks to Shane for taking the timre to give us what is in my opinion a very fair review. Word.

25/03/07 1:45pm

Genius!

Thanks to Laurence we are now nearly half way there. If we end today on $440 then we need $560 in a day...hmmmmmmmm I still believe!

25/03/07

Ok, so we're on $140. I think we're going to have to start making some crazy moves to get up to $1000 by Tuesday. But I'm still confident we can do it. I'm off to Freddie's house (he plays synth in Leopold and is also our in-house producer) to try and finish Killing Time, which I'll try and get a copy of today so I can somehow get it to everyone who has got a part. Then I've got to paint a ceiling.

In other news, I'm spending a lot of time on Sellaband at the moment- it's crazy addictive, like crack. Not that I've ever done crack- I'm just going on what my mother tells me. Ba ba ba ba ba bam bam bam bang bang BANG

24/03/07 1:00pm

I've just been cruising the whole site, and while there are some bands who really go for it, and whom I have a lot of respect for, a lot of bands haven't even bothered to try selling a single part. I also noticed that according to my search of current Sellaband artists we are ranked no.162. We will be in the top 100 by next Tuesday, even if I have to go and beg on the streets. Thats a promise to everyone who has bought parts thus far.

24/3/07

Ok, so $120. that's pretty good for our first few days I reckon. We are about to launch into a frenzied run of activity, so I hope that we will hit $1000 by Tuesday. Is that crazy optimistic? Maybe... But Olly and I are going to go into overdrive promoting ourselves. It's all about targets, right?Have a great weekend everyone- I'm currently working on a new song "Summer Lightning" and later today I'm going to go round to Freddie's to work on the rerecording of old fan favourite "Killing Time".

Tom

Ok, so we're Leopold. We're a 6-piece band based in Wimbledon (like The Wombles and Grass-court Tennis). We've been together for nearly 2 years now, and we've started headlining some great venues in London- in the last 3 months we have SOLD OUT The Metro on Oxford st. and also The Half Moon in Putney, both of which have 200+ capacity. We've also Headlined The Caenaervon Castle, The Hope and Anchor, The Buffalo Bar, Storm Leicester sq and The Kings Head Fulham, to name a few.

What's so great about this site is that we don't need to make up a load of rubbish about how great we are or what we sound like...you can just find out for yourselves. We really hope that you like it, and maybe even that you believe more people should hear our music.

Love Leopold

P.s. Please check out the rest of our songs at www.leopoldmusic.com

or www.myspace.com/leopoldband we had trouble choosing our favourite three.

Blog

Yo! So, a lot has been happening of late and I have been shamefully terrible at updating this blog - had a gig at China White in London on Monday which went very well - got another this Friday at the Borderline if anyone can make it - in short we have been doing a lot of gigs recently, and have written a lot of new songs. well, two to be precise. But one of them is so good it counts for, like, three. or something.

Peace

Howdy!

Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!

If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have $9999 or less in budget on 25 October.

This is a great opportunity for you. Let all your believers know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.

Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate to the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."

Hope you join in on the fun and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

Hi there, I am withdrawing my 1 part in you as you are hopefully too busy with performing to put any more energy in Sellaband. I fully understand. The moment you'll get active on SAB again, let me know and I'll put my part back! Have fun! Li

Leopold is clearly one of the best new bands out there

Man of Leisure 2 just instantly swiped me of my feet and made me take out the wallet to support this band. Between the almost insanely melodious lyrics and the simple modest music, this is one of the few pieces I've heard recently that left me wishing the song would continue for another 10 minutes. It's probably too tempting to compare Leopold with a band like Franz Ferdinand, but the parallels are definitely there and I think they have a bright future.
