Having been in the original line up of what we now know as The Spice Girls, only to be replaced by Mel C as the managers felt me too old, you could say I have had my fair share of near misses to fame and fortune.
I never ever stopped writing and singing but I did stop sending demos of to record companies, every one thought that having such a great story would get my foot in the door, but it had the opposit effect. I was never taken seriously.I did cover gigs for a living and sang on cruise ships, worked as a session singer on two occasions those two occasions, the first track went to no 30 in national charts and the second was no. 15 in dance charts. I was in my first group at 15 and did my first tv appearence at the age of 16. In 1997 I decided to put a band together we did gigs in Mean Fiddler London, and all over the uk we had good revues in music mags, but record companies said we were in the same market as Catatonia, and we never got signed. I decided to work in the background but I have always kept performing and writing but very low key. The internet and sites like these have given me the confidence to get back out there with my own songs.Its so different now its you guys who make the choice.

Oh, and about this Spice Girls thing... You shouldn't be much surprised. In the end it was just a "fast food" product, like a hamburger from McDonald's. Let's face it - it had nothing in common with music.

Well.. Usually I'm not into pop music, but I must admit that your songs are quite interesting - at least much more interesting than 99% of standard pop crap. Those regular record companies are soooo stupid. Take care and I wish you success on Sellaband.

Hi Lianne! You're true, it was a great idea to enter Sellaband in the case which was yours with Majors. But of course, that's not the same stuff. Here you need to get a first circle of good friends, communicate with them, be thoughtful with them cuz they love your work, even love you, support you, then with their help you can enlarge your circle of friends and... the miracle can be accomplished. You'll see it soon...
If you can have a virtual street team with you, it's even better.
I guess you already know these things, but in case... I prefer tell you that it's a huge stuff which has us spend a lot of time on line.
