Somewhere around the year of 2003,
Life O’ Riley was founded by three noisemakers who were loosely acquainted to each other.
With Rob Meisters on the drums, Dennis Carroll on the guitar and Frans Kampkes on the Bass, they weren’t among the most skilled of musicians.

Shortly after rehearsing the 2 most dreadful covers, they invited Rick Lagerwaard on lead guitar. Rick was no stranger to the 3 guys as they always hit the bars together.
They rehearsed in a basement with a low ceiling, EAR DESTROYING sound waves
Guaranteed!

The band name “WASTED” was chosen to reflect the “music” they were making.
In the beginning of 2004, the band came to a complete halt. Not only did they come up with the new name “Life O’ Riley” because Wasted wasn’t exactly the most original band name, they also lost their rehearsing cellar.

After a long half year of no rehearsing whatsoever, they decided to pick up the pace again.
A new rehearsal room was found, and the Sheltur Brunssum had one beginning band extra. They started working on their first song “Intro to the life” but still without a decent singer.
Half a year later Juliën Nelissen tried to surprise the band by visiting one of their rehearsals.
And what a grand surprise it was!

Two weeks later “Intro To The Life” was recorded in Dennis’ living room with recording gear they gathered over the years. The decision was made;
Juul would be their permanent lead singer.

After writing additional material, and rehearsing for a year they finally reached the next level of being a band,
LIVE GIGS……..HELL YEAH!

The name “Life O’ Riley” originated from an old Irish saying: “Living a life of Riley,” which means living a life without worries. This is exactly what this 5 man thrash-machine stands for, with music that can be labelled as
“Modern Thrashy Metal.”

Life O’ Riley contains five young bandmembers;
Julien Nelissen (vocals) with his skin crawling screams from Hell,
Frans Kampkes’ (bass) (b)asskicking tones,
Dennis Carroll’s (rhythm guitar) steamrolling riffs,
Rob Meisters’ (drums) movement compelling drums,
Rick Lagerwaard’s (lead guitar) squeeling high pitched tunes.

This results in an energetic metal genre, which will please both your ears.
