December the 12th

Dear people,

Yesterday I played at the Rode Pimpernel in Den Bosch. Iwas the support act for Caroline Aiken , a stunning performance that lady did over there. The venue was superb, intimate and friendly, packed with music lovers.

I really felt grateful to be her supporting act. Peter Paul was the programmer, and he did a teriffic job. I'd like to perform there again. I was a little bit nervous and impressed by Caroline, but the reactions were great!

Come and see me next to other artists at the Songsalive Showcase December the 17t at the Last Waterhole in Amsterdam!

October the 1st

Dear people,

It's been a busy time with a couple of good performances.

Last weekend I performed during a private party. Half of the repertoire were covers and the second part mainly own material. These great people appeared to be loving my voice, guitarplay and songs!! I felt gratefull  for being there and performing for these folks in their home.

Next week I'll be performing during The Night of The Singing Poets  in the Tricky Theatre. Be there!

September the 4th

Dear people,

I played at a Songsalive Showcase at the Last Waterhole last week together with Jack & Jasmine and John Spijker. Rory Campbell is the programmer of this venue and ther's live music everynight. Entrance 1 euro!

It was great to see Jack & Jasmine play, great songs and great lyrics. John Spijker had strong performance with great songs.

Be there at the next Showcase: The fourth tuesday of september, october, november etc etc.

August the 27th

Dear people,

Last weekend the UITMARKT was on in Amsterdam, a big festival to cellabrate the start of the new cultural season. There were more than 30 stages spread over the eastern part of Amsterdam. Lots of music and plays were on stage. I played too, but on the one stage which was not on the official list! At first going over there was difficult as I couldn't find it. I was looking for a stage out in the open air. It was a beautifull sunny saturday.

In the end I found it! It was a boat near the central railwaystation.

The atmosphere was very relaxed, but the stage was inside the boat. People walking by could almost not hear me playing I think. But I played and gave it my best shot. It was fun to do, so I arranged with Woedy, the owner of the place, to come and do it again the next day. For a couple of beers and a delicious pancake with bacon and cheese as my fee for the gig!

I'll be back! Tomorrow I'll be hosting a Songsalive Showcase in Amsterdam, in the Last Waterhole korte leidsedwarsstraat 49. Jack & Jasmine, John Spijker and me will be performing a couple of songs between 8 and 10 pm.

August the 23rd

Dear people, Thanks for buying extra parts. Great to see that performing gives me the opportunity to grow and to get the connection I want and need. Come and visit the Amsterdam UItmarkt on the 25th of August. I'll be playing there at the Tricky Theater  from 1500 till 1530 hrs. Just me and my guitar. I am hoping to meet some musicians who would like to play with me eventually. Bye! Also look up Backbone, Radius, Snelle Fellas at Sellaband. Great music, great guys.

August the 17th

Dear people, did you go to Sellabration last night? I was pleased to see Cubworld play and I enjoyed Backbone as a pleasant surprise in the smaller but great room upstairs at Paradiso. Great band, great voice and solid blues! The day before I played on stage at the Winston Kingdom Club in the Warmoestraat in the heart of the Red Light District of Amsterdam. Johan of Radius had arranged the Pre-Sellabration, one of the good things coming from Sellaband artists. I gave it my best shot and was able to hear and see the guys from Snelle Fellas. Very sympathetic band and cheerful music. Unfortunately I had to catch the train home just after midnight, so I missed the performance of Radius! Hope to see them again soon.

Next gig is the 28th of august in The Last Waterhole, Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 49 Amsterdam during a Songsalive Showcase.

August the12th 2007

Dear people, I've had a great time at Almelo Meets Nashville, arranged by Casper van Vulpen of Caya. I'v enjoyed great performances of Hot Club de Nashville, Thom Bresh & Buster B. Jones, Thomas Blug, Mandyleigh Storm and Caya. Plaing in Cafe De Stam & Solera was great and meeting a couple of Sellaband Believers was a totally new experience for me. I felt a little strange but gratefull when I was asked to sign CD's!! abig honour. I hope you'll enjoy this cd which I recorded in my homestudio in one take.

I feel excited to play at the Winston Club with Radius and Snelle Fellas coming wednesday in Amsterdam! See you later!

July the 28th

Just back from our holiday. Read a couple of books, spent some time with my wife & the kids in Turkey. I see that Casper has invited me to play in the daytime during the Almelo meets Nashville weekend in August! Time for some music again. See you later! Love Mars

June the 10th.

Well I'm so glad Des'ray is helping me getting my performance up to the max! The first of june I performed for the believers at SBS Broadcasting, The dutch commercial television company in Amsterdam. It was fun and helpfull to do. Next week, june the 16th, I'll be performing in the Meander in Amsterdam during a singer-songwriter evening from 8.30-11 pm. I'm the last to play! Orfeo arranged this evening. We were in the same dutch music competition in 2001, the Grote Prijs van Nederland / singer-songwriter.
