I'm sorry. 28-03-2008 First: Thanks to Daniël Peters for upgrading his parts in me :) It's been a bit silent here @ my profile, but I had some important desicions to make in life. I decided to quit my study (primary school teacher), because the study made me feel unhappy. And the thought of being a teacher in the future dind't make me happy either. I don't regret it, I feel much more cheerful now that I've quit my study... I have registered myself for the Popacademie in Rotterdam (CODarts.nl, HBO niveau). I have send them a demo and registerforms.. I hope they will invite me to join the entrance audition (they will select the registered people based on the demo's). I always thought 'I can't do such a study, cause it has no future'. But now I've seen that you also learn how to run your own company and managing. I think it's interesting. And IF I don't end up making music, I can use that managing knowledge for my graphic design skills. Tomorrow I will perform in the great musician cafeteria 'The Humblebee'. I'm looking forward to it. Tonight I will watch some bands @ the popprijs in Schiedam. Although the weather is sad, I feel like going out :) Well, let the music begin!!!!!!! 02-03-2008 First very much thank you to Tom, who upgraded his belief amazingly in me :). Thanks :) Although I'm not very much @ sellaband, I am still busy with my music carreer. I'm even invited to sing @ a marriage!!! :D I'm honoured. I uploaded a new song: Lonely. I hope you'll like it. X Marijke 21-02-2008 Oh my god, I never ever had such a painful sore throat like I have now.. Yesterday I was ill and I stayed @ home. I wanted to practise many new songs to prepare with my band, but I have cancelled our repetition now. I also have cancelled my performance @ the Urban radio show tomorrow night. I can't sing right now :( Maybe I have to cancell my performance this saturday in The Hague too :( I don't hope so :( 11-02-2008 Hey there!!! Long time no see :). Thursday 7 february was THE day that I would perform with my band for the very first time! After a long time practising and expirimenting we were on stage (mmmm ok: in the cafeteria ;)). There were a lot of people and the show was great! Thanks Wout and Joost for doing such a great job and thanks for everyone who came to support me. I sold all my demo CD's and that makes it possible to invest in my music, thanks :) Hope to see any sellaband believers the next time... ! Now I'm going to practise for my piano homework ;) (Yeah I'm following piano lessons now :))! X Marijke 09-01-2008 Hey Sorry for being away for so long. I still will for some time be away, cause my study is taking up all my time. Take care in the meantime (I'm busy with three new songs). 02-12-2007 Still haven't recieved my demo :(. But I have happy news! Yesterday I joined the Brielle Popprice, a competition between bands. I was the only solo artist and woman. All other were bands wit only boys hahaha. But Ive beaten them! HAHAH Girlpower! I became 2nd with an 8,2. Which is an B+ in english I guess.. With that mark I am through for the final round which is 15 dec. So 15 dec I've got four performances, kind of a little tour! Greets 29-11-2007 Probably this weekend I will have my demo. When I am content with it I will place it @ my profile. I'm so excited! :D:D:D:D ^^ 22-11-2007 Very busy with stuff I have to do this week, next week and the week after next week. I've finished 2 new songs, 'Her star' and another song of which I haven't fabricated a name yet. I will try to record them when I have the time. Maybe that will be in the christmas holiday.. Yesterday I went to the studio with my drummer and basist! It was an amazing experience. We were there from 10:30 till 20:30 and it was fantastic! The demo will be such a good quality! I'm fine :D Holiday is over, tentamweek but I don't have any schoolexams so it's kinda a holiday for me :) I can happily tell you that I am busy with 2 new songs! And this afternoon I starting again with driving lessons. I hope I will be more lucky then one year ago (I failed 4 times for my driving exam). Next week studioday, so I will be back with a nice new demo of Colorful and brilliant with my band Greets, Marijke 21-10-2007 Finally! It's holiday for me :D Finally no school (but yes, I do have homework :() for a week and no yelling children I have to teach. I'm not feeling really happy due to things going on in my private live, but it can be worse so let's take the best of it. The thing that makes me happy is that I am growing at sellaband! Now I'm @ 1710! I saw some people withdrawed their parts, unfortunately I can't see who, so I can't ask them why. Well you don't have to but I'm always curious. Tonight I will record some raw demo's with my band. 15 november I will go into the studio for recording some songs. 1 of them will be mixed so 1 of them will be @ my sellaband page after 15 nov so stay tuned! I'm also asked to play at the christmas ceremony of the Scouting. Oh my god time flies :P My birthday was a wonderful day, thanks for all my friends who visited me and for the presents :) Now let me tell ya about the gig last saturday with the 'Rolantino's'. It was a benefit concert for the people who support the Rolantino's. The Rolantino's are kind of a 'Jostiband' which is a band formed by mental invalid people (excuse me if this is a rude term, tell me if it is so cause I don't know another word). It's so nice to see that these people become very very happy when they start to play a song together. It was a very cosy happening :). When I was playing a child of the band played along with her tambourine, exectly in the beat :D, it was LOVELY! I think it's a beautiful thing that these people can also make music together, cause after all they are all human and they got to have these opportunity's too! After my show the director of my music school came to me with an amazing idea! I was happily surprised about the request she came with: she asked me to play solo at a show of the Rolantino's in a theater in Schiedam and to (maybe) also play a song together with them!!! :D NOW THAT'S AMAZING :D I am very happy about it and I said (offcourse) yes! So the big day will be 21 june :) Will tell you more about the time and stuff later this schoolyear. 12-09-2007 (18:54) Have a nice evening! X 08-07-2007 (11:24) Hello there!!! Finally the internetconnection is fixed up again =). So I can spend a lot more time on sellaband! Yesterday I performed at 't Ruime Sop which took place in Delft. It was really cool 'cause it was the first time I played with my bassplayer. The only thing was that is wasn't really crowded. There were only about I guess 12 people watching and listening to us. But that doesn't stop me from having fun! And the coolest thing was, there was a believer from here who came to watch and listen to me! :) Erwin Wijnen, bedankt! And I want to thank Joost, for playing the bass really cool, and my parents for supporting me and driving us to Delft. Also I would like to thank the believers who did upgrade their parts, that's FANTASTIC! By the way, friday night I met my new drummer: Wouter. He plays the drums very nice (with brushes :D!!!), and he himself is very nice also! So we decided to go further with us three!!! Maybe some of you will think 'Marijke turns into a band?'. But it's still my music, supported by their drums and bass. And I think it's very nice! And now I'm gonna have a breakfast (or a brunch, haha!) X 02-07-2007 Oh my god! I went to my singing teacher's graduation project!! IT WAS AWESOME!!! I'm very proud to have such a cool singing teacher. And the funny thing is: she is called Marijke too :). She has got a very good mark for her graduation: an 8,5! (That's a B+ in England). Well: congratulations Marijke! Tomorrow I'm going to practise with my basist again, and friday I will meet a drummer. Hopefully he likes my music and will become my new drummer :) Have a nice evening! I've finished this schoolyear!!!!!! Finally I've got time for myself! Actually I don't fully realise that I don't have to do any homework anymore! That's the story about this song :). 24-06-2007 (17:57) Before getting a big fat potato (hmm.... or something else) for supper, I will type a blog for you. I'm really happy for having 7 believers now: Michaël Hoarau, Ronald, Onno Hoogendorn, Whaley, Walter M., Kookwekker and Li! Never thought I had this many believers within a week! I promised you to tell something about my songs in each blog. The song I will explain in this blog is called 'Your favorite color'. Actually it's about an ex-boyfriend, wich favorite color was green. It's a sort of goodbye song.. Sometimes you can't do nothing but writing it all off you. It works for me, and I do love the song cause I can sing it with my heart. Today I had my first schooltests 'History', 'Gym' (theory about how to give good gym education to kids from 4-6) and 'Writing' (on paper and blackboard: schoolscript...). I don't think they went well exept for the writing test.. Tomorrow I will have to expose my art papers and I will have to sing children songs for my music test. I hope I will do well! I think I will explain something about my songs in my blog. The song I will tell you something about in this blog is Sinister Story. Sounds a little bit cruel, and it is actually.. This song is based on a true story, which took place in december 2006 in Holland. A boy was killed in his own primary school (in Hoogerheide). This made me really sad and I was thinking a lot about that boy, although I don't know him personally. I also thought about his teacher who found him after he was stabbed. Because I study to become a teacher, I was really affected about this case... And a song came out of it. I hope people will think twice about children and security... Children are our future, so we have to take care of them! Today I had a 'gig' at my musicschool, well not a gig, but I'd sing two songs at the 'open podium' of my musicschool. It was cool, and after my performance the director of my school came to me and asked me to sing at a benefit party which she organizes!! Isn't that great ? :D I think it is, because it is for a charity for disabled people. I't a good feeling when you're performing for others wellbeing. 22-06-2007 (09:35) Hey guys! Goodmorning already... I got up early cause of my schoolexams which will take place next week.... The worst thing is that I have a history exam next monday, and I'm very very bad at history... So, who can help me? Hihi :) Well, I still like to learn about all the people who made the world like it is now... They've made some major changes and it's cool to read about what was on their mind. But now talking about music, since that is what I'm here for. Everytime I post a blog I will tell you something about my music 'career'. Something I only told my believer 'Li' is that I did join a talent event called 'Talentenbeurs'. On this event very many people will sing in front of a jury. I did too, expecting nothing, just for fun. And guess what?? I became 1st :)! I was very very amazed and thrilled!! Cause beside other cool stuff I've won studio time in a 'Fortress Music Studio'!! Now, this all took place the 8th of April, but I'm still working to complete a band who will support my music, a basist and drummer. I would like to start with the recordings very soon, but have to complete my schoolyear first and find a great drummer. For the insteresting one: I'm studying to becoming a primary teacher. But my biggest dream is to travel around the world making music. I performed in clubmeander in Amsterdam. They told me there was many press, there were some photographers but that's it. The audience wasn't my audience, they were from another kind of music: R&B and hiphop. Still it was nice to perform and it was another important experience. The gig I loved the most was the 'Kuipgala' which was a benefit party where many artists performed for a charity called 'The dreamfoundation'. This was a very nice experience, it felt really good to sing for other's life.

SaB is tijdrovend ook voor ons Believers :)
Maar het is het wel waard.
Anders had ik je nooit ontmpoet en ook nooit een bekeuring in Delft gehad :)
of was dat laatste dan toch het enige negatieve !!!
Maar goed mij parts zullen pas weg gaan als je profiel opgeheven word !!
Het liefst heb ik toch dat je blijft.
