New genre: lustypopfunk :p). Ot hers say they follow The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think the Peppers should listen to this!

Fresher than a funky chicken in a fresh contest, breaking the world record for fresh funkiness, MDATA are fresh. They are also nice guys. Except Ben, who is not a chicken, but a Cock.

Grabbing influences from every side of the wide rock genre- Mua'Dib And The Awakening bring something original back into funk music.

Comparisons, in this case, are pretty useless- but MDATA have certainly got the right sound and spirit to convert Red Hot Chili Peppers and Luna Assassins fans into believers.

Their sound flirts with funk elements, alongside rock and metal foundations- with a pop sensibility sprinkled atop. The vocal lines in songs such as Pandaman and Funky People really stick inside the listeners subconscious mind.

This element, as well as the precision in which the instruments are played put MDATA into the small category of unsigned artists that truly have the skills to become successful to a wider audience. Whats more, the band are lead by one of the most innovative and unique voices in music today- experimenting with new techniques and skills, Ben certainly takes Mua'Dib And The Awakening to a new level.

Furthermore, with a devoted fanbase and true devotion to hitting the 50K target, MDATA have only a small time left before the K's roll by and the recordings start.

For strong believers only ;]

MDATA Funk - that's what it is.

I went to their gig in Groningen and MDATA hit me with their
gritty slap strum bass funk. They hit me hard.
I screamed for more until they 'd played each of their songs twice

Funk is in their DNA and thank god they found a way to share it with us. Get In Line is the most representative song I guess (check "My Video"), but all other tracks show the diversity of the band. Very talented bassplayer. You can hear this band is a team instead of 3 (obvious) talented musicians. I mean: the band is even better than the sum of all parts (and I don't mean Sellaband-parts).

Here's a challenge: try to sit still while listening to Mua'Dib. You can't right. Neither can I. Impressive groovin'

Ramon Brandt 31.10.07 3
Is this the house band of the Cuckoo's nest? is it an Irish thing? are they more French? Uncle Ben should get a Oscar fr his Gonzo style of marketing and they make very nice music, need to say more? just listen and believe
Garo 23.10.07 5

Funk rock out of Ireland; take a listen, but careful of your dog.

Well, the bare-faced cheek...

Are you in for a musical odyssee? Be guided with Mua'dib in a  Funky Town where the groove is vibrant, the rhythm rocks and the aftertaste is spicey. Current top 3: 1/ Kill Love 2/Breathe 3/Kill Love (remix version)
Blues Rock Rich 04.10.07 2
This is really cool stuff. It's strikes me as the perfect balance between the two genres... rock & funk, of course. I really like the vocals and drums especially... you'll wanna move!
Vegas Dragons "LOVINGLY CRUEL" 06.09.07 2

This is one of my favourite bands on Sellaband. Am looking forward to an entire album by these guys! Hoping it's all as funky as 'Get in line'. We need more funk!

Arnis 07.11.06 166

Lead singer Benjamin didn't just kiss the Blarney stone, he darn well swallowed it !!!  My Hat goes off to this Lustypopfunk band not just for their fun, funky sound but for their readiness to do what it takes, take the risks, push hard, work hard, play hard. Doers not talkers !  Invigorating !!!
