For those here to listen to "Time" - please note I have shifted the track to myspace - http://www.myspace.com/philtweed - Time - dedicated to my close friend David Collins who passed away recently. The words to this were written by David as a poem when he was only ten years old.
I already have one album released - this album - "How 'Bout That" - has won numerous awards:
Honourable Mention - USA Songwriting Competition
Best Male Vocalist - ABC Newcastle Music Awards
Best Instrumental - ABC Newcastle Music Awards
Finalist - Unisong Song Competition
I spent 9 months writing all the music for the album, and had a fantastic time on the night of this recording, you can really feel the energy of real musicians working off each other, as well as the response from a hugely supportive audience, which is something that is often lacking on a studio recording. Unlike many 'live' albums, this recording has very little in the way of overdubs - some tidying up of the lead vocal, some backing vocals added later, but nearly all the actual music is in it's virgin state - as it was on the night. I was truly honoured to have such great musicians to play with me and to bring the best out of my songs. What is even more amazing is that this recording was done after only one rehearsal!
Each musician is an absolute legend, and all nice guys as well!
A few of these live tracks can be heard on my betarecords site.
The three tracks I have here currently are:
Let's Be Friends - About the end of a relationship - or maybe not the end?
Julie Julie - read the blog
Casual Liasons - About the pointlessness of casual flings
I have a myspace site that features more of my material, I have another four tracks there for you to listen to. Please have a look
I have a bunch of other music available at Betarecords
My dream is to record another album. I have heaps of new material that I'd love to get out there for people to listen to. My main issue is a lack of time to be able to devote my energy to my own music. I have a family with five kids, and my wife and I run our own music production company called Style Music - http://www.stylemusic.com.au - that means I'm pretty busy, but to be able to get the funds to record my new material would be a dream come true. I also see Sellaband as a fantastic way to build an artists profile, so to simply record a new album is only one step, to build a following of people who listen and enjoy my music is much more important to me.
I love the whole concept of sellaband, and I just ask that you listen with an open mind and consider investing into my music. My ultimate dream is to be able to continue to write and record my own music on a far more regular basis, so if I get enough investment into this project, I will be able to do just that.
If you become a believer and purchase two or more parts, I am happy to send you a free copy of my award winning CD "How "Bout That" - simply email me a message after you have 'believed' with a postal address. My email is phil@stylemusic.com.au
If you've read this far - then you may like to know I am also a believer here http://www.sellaband.com/believers/philthy - there's more info about me there if you are interested.
Thanks again, and enjoy the music.

Please come back soon, I will be posting a new song very shortly - a preproduction mix of a track I've been working on for some time now - "A Few Good Men" - thanks to Lucretia for the spuralong!!! All the best, Phil
Hi Phil, it's been ages since you've had new music up. Are you working on anything at the moment, or have all those Sellaband albums been taking up your time?
Hi Phil, Because of Lemon Groove’s promotion of your music I downloaded your album ‘Perfect Situation’ from iTunes. And now I also can tell all my friends about your beautiful music. I like your songs and piano playing. Great album. Kind regards, Jos
I keep trying to challenge you to another game of chess but your list is always full! Give me a shout next time you get an opening if you want another thrashing ;)
Hi Phil, sorry, I should have explained first. I'm not putting any more money in SAB until our dollar value improves. So, any one who is nowhere near K50 their parts are going to a couple of acts who I support who are much closer to the goal. It's just my very small way to help artists get there a bit quicker. At some point in the future when the dollar picks up again I will buy parts back in other artists such as yourself. Dave
You are the man!!
