The origins of planb date back to 2001 when Cherifa, Ivo and Coen founded a band in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. What started as weekly jam sessions, soon evolved into more serious rehearsals, in which Cherifa and Coen wrote their own material which Ivo developed further into songs. When Hugo joined the band, the traditional guitar-drums-vocals sound transformed into to the current "indie with an electronic touch" sound of planb. End of 2005, Coen decided to leave the band. One year later, Ivo, Cherifa and Hugo finished the debut album, homemade.

homemade is made for your home, not the dance-floor. The sound is rather melancholic, which is emphasized by the personal lyrics. Incorparating retro to classical elements, each song has its own musical tone. homemade is recorded, mixed and released by planb and is their debut "album".

Recently planb won the Studio Artist X demoprize, being two days of studiotime in studio JP. Planb recorded 2 tracks from homemade in improved versions and also a new song: Contradiction! The 3 tracks together are called: planb@sea and you can listen to them here!
