Hello there Sell-A-Banders! My name is Apryl Evans, and I have been a member of Sell-A-Band for quite some time, but have recently gone through a career revamp working with some pretty amazing people – including an Emmy Award winning producer!
I just finished work on my self-funded professional EP entitled “One of Those Girls”, produced by Emmy Award winning producer, Robert Sands. The release date has been pushed back to January because of cover design issues but I can not wait to release it!!!
My newest goal now that the EP is completed and ready for release is to work very hard towards funding a full album here on Sell-A-Band…with YOUR help of course ;)
Check out my links above and my bio below…

APRYL’S BIOGRAPHY:
In this fickle music business, it takes more than just a pretty face for an artist to stake their claim as a musical force to be reckoned with. That’s where Apryl Evans comes in. Her unique, sexy, and soulful sound, combined with an edgy urban image, distinguishes her from the droves of musicians looking to strike a chord in the industry. Combine all of that with her wild and radiant personality, and you have the rising superstar that is Apryl Evans…
Throughout the years, Apryl’s family and friends have helped her to grow from just another little girl who loves to sing into the true artist that she has become. Ironically, one of the most defining moments in shaping the artist you see in Apryl came out of one of the saddest times in her life. When Apryl was just eleven years old, her grandfather passed away and her grandmother was, of course, devastated after losing her best friend. A couple of days after the funeral, Apryl’s family was on their way to dinner in an effort to cheer her grandma up. They were seated in the family conversion van – Apryl was sitting in the back row and her grandma was sitting in one of the middle seats – when all of a sudden, “Hero”, by Mariah Carey came on the radio. Apryl started singing along to the song, as she did with pretty much any song that came on the radio. At the time, she didn’t realize she was leaning forward while singing it, but her grandma started listening to her sing the song. Apparently, her grandma had just started to feel the extreme sadness of the situation life had placed her in and when she heard Apryl sing the words “…and you’ll finally see the truth…that a hero lies in you”, Apryl’s grandmother felt as though she was singing the song to her and it lifted her out of the sadness she was slipping in to and gave her a strength she didn’t know she possessed. Apryl’s grandma credits the song with getting her through that difficult time in her life and “Hero” has become their special song. Since that day, Apryl knew music had a power unparalleled by any other force and she wanted to help people through the power of song.
As she grew, Apryl Evans never imagined she could write her own songs until she was invited to join a songwriting group in 2006 based solely on her vocal prowess. Upon attending her first meeting, she was expected to have, at the very least, the skeleton of a song ready. Since she had never written a song before, Apryl wasn’t confident that she would be able to deliver. But somehow, under the pressure, she reached deep inside herself and wrote her very first song, “(Showing Me) My Way”. Not only did Apryl accomplish this ground-breaking task in a matter of hours, she fine-tuned the song and captured her first song in the form of a studio recording. You can now hear the song on her Sellaband.
Once Apryl realized that she had a gift for not only singing, but also writing music that conveys deep-seated emotions that cannot be expressed by mere words alone, it became her new-found love and she has been recording her deepest feelings in the form of song ever since. This gift is apparent in “I Shouldn’t”, as Apryl delivers an incredibly emotional message. The passion she injected into this song with her vocals is simply unequaled! In fact, recently, one of Apryl’s girlfriends from college told her that her song “I Shouldn’t” described exactly how she felt immediately after a break up with her long term boyfriend and it helped Apryl realize her own ability to reach others’ hearts through the power of a song!
Writing and singing songs is an outlet to help release feelings that would otherwise, eat her alive inside. Many listeners have often conveyed to Apryl that they could relate to the lyrics and the sentiment found within the lines of her music. She has also been told by almost everyone who has listened to her music or heard her sing, that she has a voice that is instantly recognizable.
Apryl’s music genre is R&B and soul-infused pop music. She grew up listening to everything from Gloria Estefan and Madonna to Journey and The Eagles. These artists influenced her throughout most of her life and now, her current influences include Anastacia, Justin Timberlake, and Kelly Clarkson.
Recently, Apryl’s song, “I Shouldn’t”, was nominated for and won the popular vote for USA4Real’s “2009 Hip-Hop/R&B Single of the Year” and won Talentcast’s “Song of the Week”.
Apryl is currently the #70 artist on Sellaband and has been steadily climbing the charts. She has been featured in various newspapers and magazines, including a full feature in an upcoming issue of “DAM magazine”. Apryl studied voice under former Broadway actress, Leslie Giammanco, who has performed at such prestigious venues as New York’s Carnegie Hall and will be embarking on a new vocal coaching venture with esteemed producer J. Chris Griffin in the coming weeks.
Apryl received numerous accolades for her vocal prowess and was recently a finalist in the critically acclaimed competition, New York City Idol, which was featured in the New York Daily News. She is currently in regular rotation on multiple radio stations and has been a featured guest on Central Jersey’s “Blue Colt Radio” and “Hear New Brunswick” radio stations.
In addition to being a fiery talent with a bold persona, Apryl is also a human and animal rights activist. She has performed at many benefit shows, and recently headed a Dance-A-Thon sponsored in a joint effort by the Prodigal Foundation, Inc. and Quo Vadis Newspaper, both of which benefit children affected by cancer.
Not only is Apryl an accomplished singer and songwriter, she has also created a name for herself in the modeling business. She was recently featured in the Art of Hair Salon’s photo shoot for “Inspire Publications”, a best-selling salon magazine.
Apryl Evans just completed her first studio EP titled “One of Those Girls”, which was produced by Emmy-Award winning and BMI-Award winning producer, Robert Sands. Keep your ear to the ground for the growing rumble this artist is making… Apryl Evans is here to stay!
