BIO
“Hi everyone! My name is Aryn Michelle and I am a native of the state of Texas in the United States, and I began writing music at the age of 15 years old and now, I just can’t stop! My love for music has inspired me to write, co-produce and release seven indie demos of my own original material and last May I released my first pro debut album “Lockless Heart.” My style has been described as alternative pop/rock with a flavor of country and a pinch of jazz. I am a versatile singer/songwriter who writes all her own material, sings, and you will find me playing the piano and guitar as part of my music.
In 2006, I graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Communication. After graduation, I devoted a year to work for AmeriCorps, a non-profit organization that addresses critical needs in communities all across America. I also spent time focusing on touring in venues, clubs, and festivals around Austin, Texas.
I have recently completed a certificate program from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with emphasis in Songwriting. While I was in New England, I kept myself extra busy by playing gigs around town with my Boston-based band. I am proud to say that, while at Berklee, I received the Scott Benson Award for songwriting, and was selected to perform in the Songwriting Dept. showcase, the Performing Songwriter showcase and the Singer’s Showcase events. In 2008, the Indie Singer Songwriter Association selected me as a finalist in the categories of Singer/Songwriter of the Year and Best New Artist. In May 2009, I released my first professional album entitled “Lockless Heart”, which was produced by Phillip Ferrell." In the summer of 2009 I was selected as a finalist in the Mountain Stage New Song Competition and just recently I was selected as 1 of 8 artists form the USA to represent the TUNE campaign with my song “Warrior.”

“Lockless Heart” is Aryn Michelle’s first full-length professional indie album and is her first project with her Boston-based band along with producer Phillip Ferrell. It features original tracks complete with some dramatic violin solos (provided by Maddy Zani) and dynamic guitar solos (provided by John Taylor). The subject matter for this album has much to do with breaking free from isolation and experiencing the good and bad parts of love. Lockless Heart released in May 2009.

5. AMBITION: Aryn Michelle is not just sitting around waiting to be discovered. 6. DIVERSITY: Although Aryn’s favorite compositional genre is alternative pop, she has successfully written songs in the classical, jazz, country, folk and rock genres. Her diversity as an artist allows her to appeal to a wide variety of audiences.
7. FRESH: Aryn Michelle is only 26 years old and has a great many quality years left to be a vibrant leader in the music community.
8. VOICE: People have attempted to describe Aryn Michelle’s voice and sound as being similar to Jewel, Ella Fitzgerald, Joss Stone, Beth Orton, and a female Freddie Mercury…what does this mean?? Basically, people have a difficult time finding someone to compare her to. Her sound is UNIQUE enough that it clearly does not sound like any current or past famous artist. Artists with unique sounds are more recognizable on the radio, and stand-out in a crowd of pop copycats.
9. DETERMINATION: Aryn Michelle has a personal philosophy to do everything with excellence, and to never give up.
