About Me:

My name is Ulrik – I’m a singer and songwriter from Denmark. I have previously called my band Morris – so that’s why you see that name in the reviews!

The Band is a constellation of some of the best jazz musicians in Denmark

My songs are all written from the heart expressing my love for life and music.

I’ve been working on my music for 5 years. Before that I was playing in a rock band for about ten years.

I write the lyrics and do the melodies. The Bassist Kasper Tagel helps with the harmonies and the arrangements. The piano player Kristoffer Møller has also been there all the way and helps producing as well. The rest of the band is changing a bit depending on the situation.

Even though I used a lot of years to find my precise artistic profile, write the songs, lyrics etc. this project is just about to be launched. I’ve got a lot of tracks ready for a SAB CD. Soon we will start touring more seriously in constellations from 3 to 5 band members depending on the situation.

When we reach the 50K I will pick 10 tracks for the cd.

I expect the expenses on the recordings to be limited, since the musicians do ‘live’ takes (all together) – two or three takes per song. So the recording phase can be down to about 3 days! Therefore I expect to use some money on promoting the cd. (We did this in the Sun Studio in Denmark. We did 6 tracks in two days and we actually had extra time not knowing what to do. This is because these musicians are professionals and they like to do it this way … to many takes … ruins the ‘fresh blood’ and inspiration)

I plan to buy a lot of parts myself, since I’m sure I can sell a lot of the cd’s at live jobs.

I’m also ready to do some work together with the believers selling some of their cd’s (I will come up some plan for this in the future).

Finally I hope to keep in contact and work together with my believers for many years, since this is where it all started – and I see it this way: the best people to work together with … is those who truly believe in your music!

Info on songs (if you like to have your own imagination about a song … don’t read this):

‘When You Go’ – is inspired by a good friend of mine. He worked hard for many years to make his wife and two kids happy – and provide them a good stabile life. After all these years he decided to retire and enjoy his fall together with his wife. After a couple of weeks in his new life he got cancer. And the next 6 months he became more and more ill. He and his wife had to face that is was his final destination and say goodbye. It’s a strange situation because on the one side you want to enjoy the last time with good vibes and good memories, but on the other you’re scared.

This song is not meant to be sad – but more like a glimpse of a beautiful scene of farewell, between two people who knows each other so well, who have faced the facts, and wants to help each other move on in each very different direction.
