Sellaband Funding

Our believers are as much a part of the band as the musicians, together we can achieve much more than we could as individuals and that is what SUNSOMA means - unity.

Our part in this project is the creative, to produce high quality recordings of commercially sellable songs that spring from the love of music that we have spilling out of us. We will also produce all the album artwork, do all the leg work and the marketing after the music is made. What we need from you as believers is financial investment to help us mix and master the music that we record and to pay for the replication of 1000 CD's in jewel cases plus funding for a promotional video / marketing. The money looks like this:

Mixing and mastering with top producer Mark Wallis : $12,000
Replicating 1000 CD's in Jewlel cases with booklet : $ 1,500
Sending out the CD's to believers all over the world : $ 1,500
Making a promotional music video / marketing : $ 6,250
15% to Sellaband : $ 3,750

TOTAL : $25,000

Every believer will have one album download for free, a physical CD sent to them and a chance to be an equal part of the band receiving a combined believer share of 25% of all net revenue that the band makes from the tracks on the CD, which will be same share that Mel, Lee and Ian receive making you the fourth member of the band. The revenue will include money made from all TV, advertising and film placements as well as income from physical CD sales, downloads and airplay. Our agreement will last for 3 years from the release date of the album.


The Overall Strategy

We have been writing new songs for a 13 track album called 'Sinking To The Top' for about 18 months now and finally we are nearing the end of our pre-production stage - that is writing the song parts and adding some production.

Our aim is to do the final recording of the songs with our own equipment, and then to have the album mixed and mastered by Mark Wallis, who has worked with many well known artists including Travis, The Smiths, U2, and Talking Heads. We are in negotiation with Mark regarding cost and timing, and hope to be mixing our recordings with Mark by July 2010.

Marketing

When the album is complete it will be available for sale on iTunes, which has approximately 70% of the digital market share. We will also be looking to place our music with film and TV as well as pushing hard for a distribution deal with a dedicated marketing company.

A most exciting development for us in this area is the inclusion of a professional song plugger to our team who has already picked up one of our songs and has started to promote it to established contacts in the film and TV industry in the USA. The track he is promoting will be included on the album, which he is also very keen to promote when it is complete.

As part of our marketing strategy we also have a video being produced for us by Aidan Barnard, a talented young animator from Bristol in the UK, whose first rushes of the video can be seen on you tube - please look at the 'Final Wide.mp4' Video ( http://www.youtube.com/user/AidanBarnard ) This video is being produced for the track 'Paper Satellites' and without the need for Sellaband money.


BUT TIME IS SHORT

We do have a time limit for the fund raising and we will need the money by July 2010 that's just four months - so please waste no time in becoming a believer and together we will be a success.
