"This is a jazz duo that combines the best that jazz and blues have to offer- Hughes's blues-inspired guitar provides a funky musical bed on which Tullock's soulful vocals- a throwback to Sarah Vaughan with a touch of Peggy Lee spunk- can stretch out and luxuriate. These two musicians seem to share a humor and a wry perspective that adds a fresh and suprising take on standards, without disrupting the sheer pleasure of these familiar songs."

--Nancy Anderson

Jen Tullock and Kyle Hughes met in 2007 after Tullock ended up characteristically lost on the Lower East Side. Hughes, in typical Scorpio fashion, ushered the shaking girl to the nearest subway, muttering "You know, the neighborhood really isn't that big" like some sort of reticently superior concierge. They liked each other in spite of themselves. They started writing songs together. Some were funny. Some were painfully not.

Tullock, a comedy writer/singer, and Hughes, a blues conscenti/arranger, began to call themselves "Punch and Judy", (a historical reference Tullock thought clever, while Hughes maintains that the duo is named for a bar).

They can be seen performing their original jazz and blues songs twice a month at Tapeo 29 on the Lower East Side. The energy is young, the tunes are clever, and Tullock and Hughes continue to solidify their place as one of Jazz and Blues's most promising new talents.

After two incredibly successful shows in Manhattan, at the Sidewalk Cafe and The Parkside Lounge, we are looking to expand our efforts and explore larger markets.  We will be going on tour in California this summer in order to try and gain some exposure.  Our first show will be at the Ukiah Brewing Co. on August 15th!  Until then, stay tuned for updates.  Thanks again for believing and we hope to see you all soon.

Last night was another successful show at Tapeo 29 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.  A bigger than usual crowd enjoyed the incredible tapas and sangria.  Jen will be hosting an "open-mic" night at Tapeo 29 starting this Sunday.  Come by and check out some great New York City talent.  Don't worry, Punch & Judy will still be playing every 2nd Sunday at Tapeo 29.  The weeks that we don't play, an open mic night will take our place.  Come by and show us what you've got!

I invested into Lucia Iman another part so i thought about buying parts from a wishlisted band.

Two reasons I chose you guys is:
(1) Your tunes are just catchy (and quite unique on SAB) and (2) you are in the tribune!

Happy to join your ride!
