Qtone - founded by Robb Walles on Guitar and Vince deVos on Bass - now with Charlie Kincaid on Drums & Jessica Turner Vocals. like most bands, Qtone started out in a garage many years ago and went through a number of permutations, until today's line up was formed just over a year ago and well, it just works! This blues/funk/rock fusion has what it takes to make you stand up and pay attention!
The song writing process & performances that comes together naturally start with Robb's raw, well orchestrated talent on the electric guitar - he makes these complicated symphonic guitar riffs that he writes look so easy! Backed up beautifully with Vince's natural feel for his jazzy funking rockin' bass lines - not forgetting to mention that he comes from a long line of bass guitarists in his South African born, Dutch, German speaking family! Followed quite completely by Charlie's deep constructions of clever percussions & time signatures - by the way he thrashes these out, you can tell that his ancestors kept William the Conqueror out of Scotland (this is true)! Finally, with Jess's strong & captivating performances that rise up from her Rock 'n Roll family background - not too many women around in this genre - these vocals have androgynous tones with powerful emotions & lyrics that front the quartet perfectly! A mixed collaboration that comes together with complexity and a raw undertow.

Howdy!
Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!
This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
