This is the translation of the interview:

(Monika Galicka) 1. Can you tell me something about the members of the group? How old are you, did you attend some music school? Do you know one another for a long time?
 (Johan Faber) Radius is a band with 3 members, our age is between 25 & 38 and we all have a lot of years experience in making music.
We all had some music education, one more than the other and we all have played in many bands through the years.
There is a strong chemical between us, and together we feel very strong.
Especially on stage, that's the thing we love most of all and the best way to get into our songs and to go beyond making music……and to become the music. Then it's like we are not on this planet anymore ;-) I call it magic……
About the members:
I know Danny (bass) from my former band Awake (1998) and I met Henko on the internet by searching for a drummer in 2004. 
Radius was formed in 2001 by me, I wrote some songs and recorded them with drum computer and bass synths.
People react very positive and told me I had to bring this thing to life so I asked Danny to help me, he knew a drummer and Radius was a fact. After some different drummers Henko came by and he's the perfect drummer for this band.
 
(Monika Galicka) 2. What musical instruments does each of you play?

Johan Faber - Vocals/Guitars and some synths
Danny Barnhoorn  - Bass
Henko Messchendorp - Drums
 
(Monika Galicka) 3. How did you start to play music?
(Johan Faber) My first instrument was the drums, I guess I was 14 or 15 years old.
My best friend inspired me, we went to school together and played the drums when we came back home after school.
There were only some problems with neighbors and I realized that it was not my kind of instrument so I tried to play guitar.
After a few years practicing and some lessons I decided to play in a local metal band…really ;-)
That was amazing and we had fun and fantastic gigs through the years but we were young……and other musical interests came on our way.
I decided to want to do more with my voice and songwriting, I was always busy with recording all instruments with the help of midi and software in my home studio.
I guess I was searching for a sound that stands close to me…..and now I found ;-)
 
(Monika Galicka) 4. What are your music inspirations?
(Johan Faber) Muse, Radiohead, Editors, Snow Patrol, Faithless, The Cure.
Music that can make me smile and make me cry,  I like to listen to emotional music.
For me music is the door to my soul and I like to express my feelings and all I've been trough in my music. 
 
(Monika Galicka) 5. Why did you decide to promote your music in Sellaband? Are you optimistic about gaining 100% of money for your record? When do you think you will achieve it?
 (Johan Faber) Sellaband is a fantastic way to let the world know who we are, a good way to distribute our music and to find people who "believe" in us and want to support us to make our dream come true.
It is a good way to work together with people who are inside the music market and to make the step to be a full professional band. I think it can open some doors for us.
I believe in this fantastic concept and it is very interesting for fans, they can make money and are a piece of Radius. To be in business together makes this concept strong!
I really hope we will achieve it this year, and I think we can.
 
(Monika Galicka) 6. Are you already popular in your country?
(Johan Faber) We are already popular in a region of Holland, and a lot of our "believers" on Sellaband are from Holland.
Right now we are the number 1 artist from Holland on Sellaband with already 26.000$ in budget so I can say we are the most popular Dutch band on Sellaband.
We are on the right track but I think we sound international  so it would be great to cross the border for some gigs.
Poland would be great, we never have been there but we already have some great support from Poland on Sellaband so it would be fantastic to give you people a taste of Radius live.
For me it is important to play were our fans are, and I would like to shake their hands after the show….if possible ;-)
They are so important for a band.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our SAB page.

We are over 50% now, so this is the moment to publish our 50K plan.

Read carefully and lets bring this plan to life ;-)

RADIUS 50K PLAN:

Were we are now/PreProduction:

We have already begun the PreProduction of the album and have put a lot of our own money in it to finish preproduction for 13 Radius tracks now. Six of them you already know and they ALL will be on the album (Next to Me, Liquid Hope, The Sea, Still Water, Higher Ground and Private Girl). For those songs we will only record a few instruments again (drums and vocals). We are satisfied about the arrangements as they are now. But they will be put in a “new” mix. 7 other songs are ready for recording sessions. Some of them won’t be on the album because we are also writing some new songs at the moment. To put ourselves in the luxury position to pick out the best songs for the album. When we finished writing those new tracks we will have around 17 tracks to make a good selection for the album. We will record all instruments at www.studiospitsbergen.nl and are working together with producer/co writer Bauke van der Laaken (Nemesea, Radio Orange).For the vocals we will ask some help of a vocal coach/producer (no name yet). Maybe someone from the UK to get a more international feel and sound. The mixing process will also be conducted at Studio Spitsbergen. For mastering we will go (probably) to the famous Wisseloord Studio’s.”

About the album:

It will be an album containing 12 or 13 tracks, a full album!  So far we got:

RADIUS going into Theatre:

We are asked to play some songs during a theatre show, it's a show about old ruined buildings in the neighbourhood of Groningen.

With lots of actors we will play together with an orchestra, songs of Meat Loaf, The Doors and The Free.

A new experience for us, but we think this will be fun and also a way to spread our name.

Right now Radius is working on a song for the movie "DEAL", Radius is one of the selected bands for making a soundtrack for this Dutch movie.

-------------------THE SEA ONLINE NOW!!!!!--------------------------We are proud to announce you we’ve just uploaded our song “The Sea”.

It’s not just a Radius song, it’s a collaboration with our believer Steff.

Steff is not an artist, so it took some time to make her sound like an

artist ;-)

But we think we created something special.

This is our Christmas gift. For Steff, for all our believers, for Sellaband and

everyone who is involved with this community. This one is for you!

And especially to all the people who are alone with Christmas, or not able

to spend this time with the one(s) they love.

*Radius performance for moviesoundtrack DEAL!! NEXT WEEK 13 DECEMBER at 22.30!!

We are one of the selected bands for making a soundtrack for the movie "DEAL".

We are already in the 2nd round and have to play live december 13 at Simplon in Groningen.

The competition starts at 21.00 and there are 8 bands selected to play, the audience has to vote for the winner. Each band has 15 minutes to perform.

So if you're from GRONINGEN or in the neighbourhood the 13th; please come to Simplon and vote for RADIUS!!! Free entrance!

*Good news & bad news.....

This weekend we had a great time together with Steff, she came all the way from France to Groningen for Radius.

It was very hard to wave her goodbye, she is such a great personality and special friend. Thank you Steff, it was wonderful!!

There is also some sad news; Kees, our new guitar player decided to quit with Radius. His other band (Big Apple), play almost every day now because of a radiogig for 3FM a few weeks ago. When he started with Radius, things were very quiet with Big Apple and we did not see any problems.

But now it's better to separate.

It won't be a problem with the upcoming gigs, with the 3 of us we are also able to give you the Radius Rock!

We are already in the 2nd round and have to play live now, the audience have to vote for the winner.
