RELISH ON THE TRIBUNE 58:
''Here’s a young Dutch band that have definitely got their funk and reggae groove together, which is particularly impressive considering they’re all 18 or under. Songs aren’t as developed yet as they could be, but you can easily hear the potential, and “Following Your Heart Is Not A Crime” is something Jamiroquai could almost have written. Let’s hope they make it to the $50K as these songs properly produced will sound terrific''
140$ parts already! Thank you believers, SPREAD THE WORD!
ABOUT THE BAND:
Relish, look up the word in the dictionary and you'll find there's no better name for this band. The meaning of the name goes from enjoying and having fun, to spicing up your food, to a sweet delight.
See the band RELISH as a funky cocktail with healthy ingredients such as Soul, Pop, Rock, Reggae, Blues, Jazz.
Allong with the rhythmic vocals and lyrics this music-style-mix is resulting in catchy pop-music that's different from the pop-music we hear on the radio or see on television today.
One of RELISH's principles is to be as divers as possible.
We want to make music that you will not get tired of. We think every song
has to be as if it was a surprise to the listener.
We got together in january 2007.
BANDMEMBERS:
Nikkie Freeke (18yr) - Makes sure the steady bass lines groove underneath her fingers.
Roy-Victor Seriese (18yr) - Plays the lead guitar in a way that you'll want him to stay.
Bas Bergamin(18yr) Gives any drum the time of its life and eventually brakes the heart of every drumstick.
David Benjamin(19yr) - Lets the vocals Lay back, and the rhythmic guitar attack, put the lyrics down well, and always has a story to tell.
OUR DEMO:
At David's place we recorded a little DEMO which contains three of our songs (these are the songs uploaded here on sellaband).
Resist the temptation to think that all the music we make will probably sound a bit like these songs, because this is not true.
I tell you this because we've heard people saying we sounded a bit like a reggae-type of band, which we our not.
If you live in Holland, or you're on a holiday there. Come and see a show!
Or just visit our website and myspace and we'll keep you up to date.
I hope you'll believe in us the way we believe in ourselves.

This funkadelic Dutch jazz band were originally brought to my attention in late 2007 and I was immediately hooked by their remarkable style. I can honestly say that this is like nothing I've ever heard before, and because of this, their brilliance is harder to describe. Although the members of this band are still young and probably spent some time experimenting with different musical designs, it appears that they have found their niche, and have made a perfect decision in the choice that they have stuck with. It's a shame to see that their music is not gaining more notoriety on this site, because they definitely deserve it and I think they would stand a very good chance of success on the mainstream market. Anyway, if you're looking for something to tickle your musical tastebuds, then this is a must-listen band, check them out, and if you like them then help me and other believers to get their name known around Sellaband. |
