Seno vs Frank: Fluro Spew Confetti
Seno – Guitars (6 string wizz banger, pusher of pedals and questioner of tales)
Frank – Bass/Vocals (4 string bass communicator, dirty disco groove speaker)
The Beat Juggling Yamsta – drums (beat producing 6'10 master of all things jive)
Born and bred in the mighty bay of Taharata, fed on healthy diets of concrete, creek water and local folklore, Seno (Stefan Jowitt) and Frank (Jeremy Robertshaw,) met on the streets where the 'Bournemouth Terrorists' roamed and developed an understanding of the factors of Jive.
Joined by the Western Springs resident “Beat Juggling Yamasta” (Carla Waldron) Seno vs. Frank are a collaboration built up around the warped concept of rhythmic sense that is Seno and Frank. There is no general influence or idealisation - the music is the journey and the tales of drunkenness and cruelty adapt to each bass beat dropped and each lick thread.
Armed with anxiety, naivety and a dash of previous endeavors, Seno vs Frank make each performance a cornerstone for the next - with rumors of special guests, daring stunts and stage antics that would rival a carnival side show, this is a band that aim to shatter the constraints of what is regarded as the “scene” and show no mercy to the expectations of mainstream audiences.
However, the combination retains a sound that is both mildly eclectic and strangely infectious.
“it’s that raw energetic sound which is winning them an army of fans time and time again, hopefully one of those groups to break out by the end of the year” – Benjii Jackson, Bored Housewife Radio
“Their set crackled with messy brilliance” – Naughty Night Guide
