BIOGRAPHY
Singer/Songwriter SHAUNTAII, a Wiradjuri woman, follows a proud tradition as the daughter of Aboriginal Boxing Champion, Wally Carr. SHAUNTAII began singing at a very young age, and wrote her first song at 10 years. By the age of 13, SHAUNTAII was part the Black Vine Choir, initiating her involvement with the Aboriginal artistic community. Throughout her years at high school, SHAUNTAII performed at many clubs and special functions, while continuing her song writing. SHAUNTAII completed in 1997, Certificates II and III Contemporary Music at EORA Centre where along with other Indigenous students she formed and sang in a band called Wagan. During this time SHAUNTAII acquired the taste of recording by laying down demos with producer Andro Martinez, who has performed with the likes of George Benson and The Beach Boys. In 1998, SHAUNTAII was cast in the multi-award-winning musical, Jimmy Chi’s ‘Corrugation Road’. The Musical toured for six months throughout Australia. The cast also included other well-known, Aboriginal artists like, Stephen (Albert) Baamba. In 1999, SHAUNTAII played the lead role in the musical, ‘Follow Your Dream’, for a six-week season in Sydney. That same year she also took part in the NAISDA production Camouflage, a showcase of new Indigenous Artists, held at the Sydney Opera House. From 2000 - 2005 SHAUNTAII played an integral role in the music department of her church and sang regularly at National and local events. November 2006 SHAUNTAII launched her own original EP. A style of Inspirational Soul - an exotic fabric of Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, a hint of Gospel, with a whole lot of Soul. From January to April 2007 her self titled EP ‘SHAUNTAII’ was at the top of the charts at site mp3.com.au for 3 months. SHAUNTAII’s music has broad appeal, not only here, but also all over the world. SHAUNTAII is now sharing her positive, inspirational soul with the community. In 2006 and now in 2007 SHAUNTAII has performed at major community events throughout Sydney including the following annual events: Pasifika, Fiji Day, Fiji Youth Day, Connection Cafe and NAIDOC week celebrations. She will also partake in the annual Rhema Radio - Rhemathon in Hervey Bay this October and will delight Fiji with her sounds in December. “Many who have heard SHAUNTAII have described her voice as ‘soothing yet powerful’ and ‘a voice that warms the soul’. The freedom in her musical expression is the reflection of her heart and soul as SHAUNTAII writes and co-produces her own music. SHAUNTAII’s great vocal ability mixed with her love of a wide range of music styles from Jazz, Gospel, R&B and HIP HOP, gives her a unique sound that is distinctly SHAUNTAII. Shauntaii from Sydney, Matt Lucas from Sydney, Matt Johnston from Sydney, Gospelcomedy D.A Productions from Canberra and Kellie Hansen from Toowoomba. If you can make this great street party which is drug and alcohol free, there will be various stall holders also availalbe. Hot food, cold drinks. This will be run till 10pm so come to Hervey Bay and check out these great artists and help raise funds to keep Rhema on the air. |

Over the past few days there have been up to 6 Aussies acts in the real time charts. This may not sound like much but keep in mind that in Australia we are lucky to crack 20 million in total population.
We are encouraging EVERYONE to support the Aussie acts this week (and forever;-) to see how many we can get & keep in the charts for the week.
C'mon, everyone knows what the Aussies are like - we will always be there for you when you need us so let's see what we can do as a Sellaband Global Nation for the Aussie Real Time Chart Assault.
Crack a stubby, throw a shrimp on the barby, where do we goanna, don't flash your wangaratta, how much can a Koala Bear - go throw a few parts into some Aussie acts and make the world a better place.
This will be a record for Sellaband & a record for Australia - be a part of it.
I haven't even confirmed with all the other Aussies yet but it is easier to get forgiveness than approval so I offer the following and hope I don't get into trouble;
The believer that adds the most parts by close of this weeks charts (and the parts must be evenly spread over at least 5 Aussie Acts) will get a combo pack of promo items from all the artists & 10 gift parts. There will be only 1 winner and they get EVERYTHING.
