- SILLYMOTEL is Nearfield’s side project. Alexx Name and Sylvie C. were joined by soprano Silvia Mateus and producer Gabriel Gomes formerly Madredeus accordion player and co-producer.
The later begin to work with Rodrigo Leao another member of Madredeus original formation after they both split from the band to found their own projects: Rodrigo Leao Ensemble, whose 2004 album ‘Cinema’ had the participation of Beth Gibbons from Portishead and Riuychi Sakamoto; Gabriel Gomes, with Tjak an innovative project where ethnic sounds meet electronics.
SILLYMOTEL sounds are liberally composed in a progressive fashion embedded in the moods of classical music and free jazz. Pop clich? electronica, bossanova are just a few inspirations in this genre melting pot of true original musical fusion.

Just wanted to pop in and give you a heads up on Sommersby's October Competition!
If you haven't already heard, the competition (hot on the heels of his recent neck-in-neck September fiesta) will offer 20 parts for the winner and is open to all artists that have between $9999 and $0 in budget.
Please check the forum for updates on contest rules and regs….starts 25 October!
This is a great opportunity for you. Campaign with the believers to let them know you'd like to be nominated and encourage them to vote for you when the time comes.
Of course, if you'd like to, or you know someone who would like to, donate parts for the prizes in the Competition, just send (or have them send) Sommersby the details under a message marked “October Donation."
