T H E   B A N D

Slowscan originated with Lisa Pangrazio and Filip Ros. When they first met in 2003 they hit it off immediately in their need and search for a new challenge in music. After eight successful years with the band Arid, Filip found in Lisa his perfect partner in crime. Lisa herself was looking for someone to uplift her songs with the right kind of electronic beats and samples.

During the next two years they worked on dozens of songs and created even more ideas. Their songs’ unique arrangements convinced both musicians that what they had together, was a winning combination.

After a long period of time working isolated in the studio they started wondering how their songs would actually sound in a live environment. The search for the right musicians began… People who are talented, motivated, and especially, who genuinely understand and feel the songs. Dries Van Schoor (Venus in Flames) & David Van Glabeke joined the crew. At last they could start to rehearse: playing the songs and creating an own live sound. This all led to a demo recording in the Jet Studios in Brussels.

Twelve songs have been thoroughly rehearsed and completed. So now it’s finally time to start recording and perform live on stage. One condition though, the band still needs a live sound engineer to ensure a perfect well-balanced live sound.

In other words, Slowscan is a very well-kept secret... Let’s hope things will change very soon.

T H E   S O N G S

Each of the songs is created in a very similar way… A lead vocal line, a guitar riff or even a complete arrangement by Lisa is being moulded into a song by Filip, who adds new elements and/or rearranges the song. Afterwards, intense live rehearsing is in order!

Each song contains a bit of melancholy, and because of Lisa’s emotional and powerful voice, some songs grab you right by the throat. The beats, strings and electronic sounds combined with tight drum work, guitars and acoustic instruments turn the songs into an exciting yet fitting mix of elements.

Björk, PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, Massive Attack, Coldplay are some of the many artists whose influence has unmistakably filtered through in the creative process of Slowscan’s songwriting. There’s always new and fresh energy present to create great material… New ideas and themes are ready to create more songs… But all in due time…
