                   HELLO AND THE WARMEST OF WELCOMES TO OUR WORLD!

For those of you who like a nice slice of culture with their elevenses - the band name SUNSOMA- is actually from an ancient Greek word meaning 'one body' or 'unity', and that kind of encapsulates what the band is about- 3 musicians from the U.K  who have a passion to write and play music together. That's it. 

Mel and Ian (who are married), formed the band some 8 years ago and know what it means to persevere through all the highs and lows that are an inevitable part of working so closely with a highly talented and creative team - Mel smiles: "yeah we've had more line up changes than hot dinners- we must be almost up there with the likes of Deep Purple! But we just love doing this and we've had so many amazing experiences like being on MTV, playing a live set on BBC radio 6, and getting our music used by O'Neill, that anything else would be far too dull! We're in such a creative place right now too- I think our writing is just getting better and better and we've got a real mega vibe-ey-thing going on."

 

The guys met Lee through the wonders of the Internet, and this robust and determined threesome have been working together for almost two years, writing, experimenting and building up a body of work that they can't wait to deliver in the form of their forth coming album entitled SINKING TO THE TOP.

If I had to describe their music, I'd say it nestles more than comfortably into that beat-up old sofa of the Rock/Pop arena and yet has an enticingly original sound all of its own- the melodies are hooky affairs with a depth of lyrical content to match- these are proper songs!

The band meets as often as they can-long train journeys being a regular occurrence - And yes, they have jobs to pay the bills and buy new guitar strings etc, but there is no doubting where the hearts of these three truly lie.......  inside the wonderful, convoluted, raging, fragile world of music............

The band were originally told about Sellaband through a friend, and the whole experience has been a very positive one so far: They played alongside Mr. Francis Rodino, Daniel Ward-Murphy and Trail in Leicester square, came 2nd as the believers choice in the Orchard competition, and had a ball making their MAD WORLD video for Sommersby's Christmas song competition (you can still check it out if you go to their video section). Not forgetting the fact that being here on Sellaband has given them the opportunity to expose their music to your good selves wherever you may be in the world!!

The band are a modest bunch, yet believe 100% in their creative talents and that with your help they will make a superb and unique album- it's only a matter of time....... (shorter though if you get stuck in and buy some parts!! ).....
