Tanja Dankner was born on the 23rd July 1974 in Basel. The singer and her brother Phil Dankner won the 1995 ‘Prix Walo’ prize as the duo “Soul Affair”. The artists were subsequently discovered by Stephan Raab, with whom they successfully released their album “Dankner”.

They stayed in the Swiss and German charts for six weeks with the single “Will I ever” and the boxing match hit “Ce quand sait”, and toured Germany with the popular TV programme “Die Wochenshow”.

In 2001 Tanja formed one of the jury for the popular TV programme Popstars, seen on TV 3, where she cast the girl band Tears.

Tanja Dankner has sung on albums by DJ Bobo, Michael von der Heide and Martin Schenkel. In 2005 she landed a global dance hit with the DJ Jamie Lewis (Will I ever) remix. Dankner performed live at various venues, such as at the Montreux Jazz Festival, AVO Session in Switzerland, MTV and on TV Total. In 2006 she sang the title track “Superwoman” for the film Handyman with Marco Rima.

In 2006 Tanja Dankner performed the official song from Swiss Olympic for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, in collaboration with Mark Sway, Daniel Kandlbauer and Kisha. The song titled “We're On Fire” made it into the Swiss charts in January 2006.

In 2006/07 she produced and sang for the renowned Salto Natale circus, with whom she toured live in Switzerland for four months.

At the moment, Tanja Dankner is working on a number of music projects, including Tanja Dankner’s living-room (Unplugged), The Hilfiger Session and Sitnlisten (live chill-out music). She also leads the successful Music Session with her brother Phil.

On top of this, she produces for various film and advertising projects in her Basel studio, as well as working as a songwriter and singer.
