Formed in 2006, by a group of ambitious Israeli musicians. 

Dryad is the name of a new gothic-symphony metal ensemble from the area of Haifa and Krayot. This new ensemble wishes to bring a dawn of great female fronted metal music to the Israeli metal scene, that only now started to bloom out of the rehearsal studios into the Israeli stages and festivals, and hopefully to the world as well. Now working on their first demo, which will be called "Saints and Sinners", and getting ready for their debut performance, which is dated to the release of the demo - in September [delayed due to the situation between Israel-Lebanon].

The ensemble founders, Shelly Rau and Ofer Idelovitchi are leading the musical vision of this new band to create music that combines dramatic and epic gothic metal with female soloists and growls when the band's main inspiration of the music and lyrics is music that is being written for movies [scores and soundtracks].

This is an epic and atmospheric music, which doesn't loathe from any subject, rhythm and musical genre, further more, using every instrument possible, inc. orchestras and different ethnic ensembles.
